Morning all,
Well after nearly 24 years the day has come.
At lunchtime today I drive out of those camp gates after my last day in the Army
As with any job you've been in for a long time there's a hint (but only a little one) of sadness :D
I joined up in Nov 1985 and since then have done many interesting jobs and been to many exotic places. A couple of tours of Iraq, nearly 5 years in Belfast. 2 Tours of Bosnia and a good few years in Germany, not forgetting 3 years in London and a couple of trips to Canada
I leave as a WO2 with a nice pension to keep me going :D
All in all no regrets it was one great big adventure which has left me with plenty of good and bad memories.
Now it's time to move on and Spirits High is now a fulltime venture ;)
I'm looking forward to being able to what I want to do when I want to do it :D

Thanks for all the replies it hasn't hit home yet.
Have just been sat in my garden drinking Champagne with Emma ;)
Off out to our favourite mexican tonight then down to London tomorrow to watch AFC Wimbledon clinch the title.
Emma sprung a bit of a suprise tonight by saying she's booked us in to a hotel in Central London tomorrow night with a couple of tickets for a Comedy club, nice one!

With all due respect.....I really do admire people who have served good years in the Army, Air Force or Navy to protect and lay down lives for others to enjoy life to the full.
I know Silver is the same....and respect. :youdaman:
...and any one else in that role. :)
....OK that's enough of that....back to normal. :D

just thought i'd give you an update!
top weekend AFC Wimbledon got the point they need at Hampton & Richmond so are 3 pts clear going into Saturdays game. So bar losing by 13 goals  promotion to the Blue Square Premier is in the bag.
Saturday night in London was good, went to a comedy club on the Tatershall castle boat opposite the London eye, very funny if not family friendly ;)
Sunday morning came back via Camden market, which if you've never been is a real eye opener. I lived in Camden (Regents Park Bks) for about 4 years at the end of the 90's so was nice to see how it's changed.
So all in all goodtimes.
Will catch up with most of you on sunday for a :beer1: or 3
