S & H Booth??

Hi All Hope you all had a good and successful week end.

S & H DJ Booth to have or not to have that is the question.

If you already use one ... please what are the advantages / disadvantages?

What’s better or as good as?

Is their any one wishing to sell one
Or any one that knows some one that can get them at a discounted rate?

So many questions but as my old dad used to say if you don’t ask you don’t get!!

Also Ithink the booth look the dogs :Censored: as when a star cloth on a deck stand looks cheep IMHO (if i had money i would get a booth.)

I'm sure some of the current users will be along with their thoughts on it..

Dave the s&h is the thing to have . sets up in less than 5 minutes and down in less than 2 minutes. I dont know if you know a guy called IAN STEWART a fellow DJ.. i can send you his details if you dont. he can get them with a bit knocked off, although if you do buy one just get the booth and cloth, and buy a transformer seperatly you could save around a hundred quid.

Personnally I have a S&H booth but very rarely use it as it is too big for most the venues I play in. If they would do a smaller one would be ideal but is far to big for my needs.

My votes for the Deckstand Booth Pro too. After having used both, the DSB is more versatile, as it includes shelves too, so you don't need an additional stand too.

As most people on here know I also have the James H Deckstandbooth. :) (see photos in reviews thread)

I have seen the S&H and it is smaller once folded down and lighter BUT for ease of setting up the DSB takes no time at all, the shelves are included and the lighting bar is a doddle to fix to it.

With the S&H you will need a table and t bars or a seperate deck stand to put behind it! For this reason I didnt buy the S&H.(all that money just for a front, na!)

The DSB is a mighty solid beast too. No worries about it falling over if a customer falls into it :D

DSB wins hands down and if anyone local to me wants to see it in the flesh then by all means give me a shout!

James' booth/stand also looks really good and as Steve has pointed out to me also doubles up as a deck stand, so there you go job done. Both products are really good. Every bodies happy!

It was a while back that we enquired - a couple of years IIRC, when they still had the monopoly. Clearly that has since changed, which can only be good for the market.

The splaying sides issue is pretty poor, considering the price - a horizontal bar or set of base plates to prevent this would cost a couple of pounds which when considering the price of the product, is negligible. The absence of a carry case/bag is also not great, in my opinion.

I use one and it was purchased late last year.

Plus Points

- The smart look is definitely a cut above other frontages and a must in my eyes for Weddings & Corporate Events
- Bags of space behind it for storage as well as a deckstand, table or flight cases
- Very good quality materials and workmanship. A friend of mine has had one for nearly 5 years and it looks as good as it did on day one
- It provides a nice protective barrier and the odd drink spillage doesn't seem to faze it
- Great customer service and support
- The power unit comes fully PAT tested and you receive a fire retardant certificate
- The price puts lots of people off, which is great because the last thing you want is everyone using one... :)

Negative Points

- A storage bag should really be included for the price, as well as cleaning instructions
- The delivery charge is ridiculous

Overall I think it has been one of the most sound purchases I have ever made.

How does it compare to the Deckstand Booth? No idea, I've never seen one!

Cheers. Just out of interest, ive had a bit of an issue with my ultimax stand and the console case fitting on it. The case is 25 inches deep and 17 inches high, do you think that it will fit on the shelf, and under the slope, safely?

Same with the deckstand booth Pro as you don't have the use the 2 shelves sold with the DSB as standard if you don't want to... But obviously one big advantage is that if you do use the 2 shelves or even just 1 shelf you then don't have to carry in the deckstand parts as well as the booth surround parts... Also if you only use one shelf you have the extra space underneath for a bass bin or more flight cases - so you have the flexibility to use it as just a booth or as a deckstand booth with 1 or 2 shelves and with or without an overhead lighting bar.

- Very good quality materials and workmanship. A friend of mine has had one for nearly 5 years and it looks as good as it did on day one

Again the same as the DSB... We've actually used a slightly thicker metal on our stand which is why it's a little heavier and robust. Also it's been made by a specialist metal company who have been in business for a very long time.

- It provides a nice protective barrier and the odd drink spillage doesn't seem to faze it

Again same with the deckstand booth Pro BUT as the deckstand booth pro sides are angled out a little it's near impossible to tip over or rock where as with traditional square deckstands it may be more possible to rock and tip

- Great customer service and support

Well i can't really answer that one personally can i :D but as with any company we do what we can where we can even if it ends up costing us money - at the end of the day without customers where would any company be...

If you buy the blackwool serge (or LED Wool serge starcloth when available) from us you too will receive a fire retardant certificate.

- The price puts lots of people off, which is great because the last thing you want is everyone using one... :)

Although not included as part of the price we are looking into making one available for the deckstand booth pro. As for cleaning we have an instruction sheet which is nearly complete and will be sent out with all deckstand booth pro's it covers assembly, attaching the cloth and how to clean. We also sell washable fireproof treatment in bottle of 500ml and 1L so if you want to retreat your cloth after cleaning it you can.

- The delivery charge is ridiculous

Don't know what S&H charge for delivery so can't comment but we do not add any costs onto the delivery - it's the charge that is from the company we use.

Overall I think it has been one of the most sound purchases I have ever made.

I agree the booths (which ever model) do really add to the presentation of the whole set up - i've had so many good comments since using one it's been great... The white cloth is being favoured by some brides too. :D



Hopefully that gives some sort of comparisons between the 2.

Yeah, DSBs LED sergewool ones won't be available untill after that date.

Saying that though, S+H normally have a 5 - 6 week lead time. I know they are building up stocks, so they may be able to do one before the 1st for you.

Ahh thanks for that... thought it would be around that. Ours is £25 which is what we get charged... But we're also happy to let people collect them if they want for free from our Worcestershire base.

Thanks for the message dave... You have a reply awaiting you :D. The PM only came through to me at 10am this morning and i've just got back from a site visit so sorry i couldn't reply quicker.

Where is your gig on the 1st May?? As we do have a demo model of the more expensive LED Starcloth & controller here (which can be produced anytime here in the UK it just costs more than our budget one available in July) so depending on where the gig is i may be able to come along with that and let you use it for the evening - which would solve the problem short term for you.

We don't currently have any lead times at all on the booths as before we released the deck stand booth we decided we never want to keep people waiting for them once they had paid... so we built up a nice reserve stock to ensure it's always available when people want one... Which is pleasing retailers as they can get stock ASAP when ever they need it.
