Every one wants power but don't want the weight with it.

But on a serious note, if they can get big power with a switch mode power supply which would keep the weight down, but mostly the cost then fiar play to them and I hope it works for them. :)

I think weight has the upper hand for a selling point. I think most people would rather spend a little more and get an amp that weighs less than half of it's equivalent.

The fact that they will sell them cheaper than the equivalent is a BIG plus.
Also you will be able to buy the power amp modules separately, so if you're handy with a soldering iron and you have an old amp casing, you could save a small fortune. :D :D

Hmmmm having visited the Mansfield premises personally I was quite impressed with developments.

Im not totally sure because Peter is in closer touch with them--but basically they have got a power amp coming through which might solve the power to weight ratio situation we all dislike--i.e. socking heavy power amp.

Naturally we will have to see whether this is a reliable option with sound quality to match.

Ah just but an RSE amp at 6 kilos each they are pretty light anyway :)
