Hi I Just Want To Introduce Myself!
My name is Alex, and im a DIY DJ for the family, im not a business, or a mobile DJ nor do i do it for money or will i ever accept money.....more of a family mobile DJ.....
I really didnt like the idea of hiring a mobile DJ or hiring the equipment because i didnt like the idea that the next day after the party you have absolutely nothing to show for your £150-200 that you have just handed over to disco dave or the hire company, I work really hard for my money i earn and i wanted to 'keep the goods', so i just decided to buy all the equipment that way all the parties that family has wont cost them a penny!
Just to be clear 'i dont play illegal music' as someone suggested on one of my postings (why do DJ's think that all newbies play illegal downloaded music, you dont even know me? why jump the hatch?) , i have the biggest collection of CD's you could ever imagine, i have bought CD's from many years back, i find ebay and boot sales (with the help of a good cd cleaner) can be a little gem! I have collections from 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's to all the modern stuff and i love all the soul stuff and disco house music!
My equipment list is:
1 x Numark CDN22 Twin Cd Player + Numark Mixer in Flightcase
1 x Stageline Disco Amp
2 x Gemini 12" GT1202 Speakers
1 x Stand to place CD Mixer on.
4 x Abstact Lights
4 x Acme Magic Gobo's + CA8 Controller
2 x Scanners
1 x Light Chaser + Generic Lighting
2 x T-Bars
1 x Smoke Machine
All the leads / cables / etc
Getting all my DJ gear PAT tested next week by the family electrician which would save even more money, definately getting public liabilty insurance aswell before i gig!
Some are saying that i will get the disco bug, im not too sure of that as i am training for my instrument rating (pilot) that requires nearly all my time in studying if i am not working.
But i must say this forum is a real gem and very helpful!
I thank you in advance for the advise given so far!
It's funny reading the arguements on one of my postings, you guys sure do like to put your point across! lol
Nice one!
Alex
