I was in the City ( of London) today and there were a few flags flying on Taxis and Builders Lorries plus the pubs seem to be using today as a marketing tool to get the punters in.

Why not its hard enough for them.

Seemed to be more enthusiasm in Northampton Town today though for flying flags.

Have a good one everyone, I have my flag on the car today but it was the only one in the Station car park out of dozens of others:eek: :eek: :eek:

in all fairness i didnt know it was st georges day until i logged onto facebook and one of my friends had it on his status.

Its such a shame more isnt done, but to be honest as soon as people start flying their flags etc then there becomes aload or rows and arguements about it not being fair to other nationalities and religions etc!

I think half the reason it isn't celebrated is because unlike the Scots, Welsh & Irish, with St Andrew, St David & St Patrick's days, most English don't actually know when it is.

There's too many public holidays at this time of year (Easter, Spring & May bank holidays) We need some more in the summer, say June or July (the Queens officail birthday would be a good one)

I did a St Georges day quiz at my regular Thursday pub tonight & there was free entry to people wearing red & white.

It was quite a good night, as I had 11 quiz teams.

For the 8th week in a row, Play your cards right wasn't won, so the jackpot of £200 rolls over to next week. It looks like there will be a VERY happy winner in the next few weeks.

It was one of the questions I found online for my St Georges day Quiz last night.

Several different sources gave the same figure, although I can't remember the actual sites where I found the information. I think I just Googled St Georges day & St Georges day quiz.

The figure is amazing, but apparantly true.

To be honest, I wouldn't know when St Georges day was if it didn't happen to be the day after my birthday.

I'm the complete opposite, as I have no idea when St Davids Day & St Patricks Day are.

All I remember is that St Patricks day is around March, and that's only because I've done a few St Patricks Day discos, and I remember that's when they were!
