Hey,

As many of you know, aswell as DJing - i'm a drummer. However, another thing i love to do and have a great interest in is steam. Since a very early age, my Dad has been involved in steam engines and has passed his knowledge on to me, and my younger brother Joe.

We steamed our Half size Foden steam wagon up today and went to a couple of pubs, so thought i'd post a picture :)

Yes, it does need to be taxed. However road tax for steam powered vehicles is free!

Ha ha, my dad is 48 :d

I met Fred Dibnah about 5 years ago at a Steam Rally, he was there with his Traction Engine.

Yeah I met Fred Dibnah too at Holcot around 5/6 years ago too, very nice man.

Haha! Yeah, bit of a shame.

It's an original one though, not one of the new modern car reg. style ones like alot of people have on them. A friend of ours who has the 'sister' engine managed to get hold of the orignal plate numbers from someone.

what sort of speeds can you get up to in that thing? Loads of room for kit in the back too

The full size 'Sentinal' steam engines which were used as couriers 'back-in-the-day' could reach around 50 - 60 mph. The 'Foden' full size wagons can reach around 30mph. Our half size (half size meaning 6 inches to the foot) can comfortably tank around at 12mph, however we've hit 23mph down the A5!!!

Yeah I agree with the comments. It's great that you have a passion/interest for this Ollie. Good on you mate and great "machinery thing" you have there ;)
