I was thinking of selling on 2 of my 4 Martin scanners (SCX 500's) and replacing them on my rig with 2 NJD Datamoons. Now as much as I love the scanners, I'm thinking it would just add another dimension to my lightshow. Now I don't want to do this and regret it (obviously) so before I go ahead I thought I'd throw it out there. What do you reckon? I know it's probably personal choice, so let me know what you'd do? :)

I would get the Data-moons keep the scanners then you can mix & match them as you wish.

Yeah, wouldn't get rid of the scanners!

If you can get the datamoons without selling the scanners, then mix and match.

If you have the budget, an EFX500 would look great as a centrepiece.

I too would keep the scanners and go for the Datamoons, if budget allows. It means you have the back-up mof a bigger show, for those large venues. :)

I had a pair of Datamoons a while back and they are a very good budget moonflower. Used with the controller, they are very effective.

Yes they are still a very good light I've used them on every disco I have done.

In all fairness not only did darren make me drive over to HIS side of the motorway but also turned his phone off for half an hour :P

IMHO i would keep the scans but if the budget is there like Darren said a EFX500 would look mint with 2 scans at each side.

Cheers Charlie, I'm about to take Daz's advice and add an EFX 500 to my rig without getting rid of anything, would be a shame to say goodbye to 1/2 of one of my best purchases to date.

Did you sell the controller in the end Mark? If you bought an EFX600 (which is more expensive by far!) , then you can download programmes that run the SCX500s and the EFX600. I originally thought the controller ran the 500 and SCX500s, but the Martin rep gave me incorrect information...:(

Yeah I sold it mate for £36 plus p&p, not the best decision I've ever made :o
