Hi Guys,

I am looking for an amp that it about 1600W (or above)

My budget is £180 max, I already have a ProSound 1600W amp, but it only gives out 500W RMS per channel at 4Ohm and 250W RMS at 8Ohm.

I have 2 x 600W Max (400RMS) Speakers which are 8Ohm and 2 x ProSound 300W (150RMS) speakers which are 8Ohm.

I am also looking for either a 2U ABS Flight Case or a 4U one to put both amps in.

P.S. How do I connect 2 speakers with Speakon connectors to my amp for 8Ohm, when it only has 1 8Ohm output?

I appreciate your help and advice as always.

Scott.

this quite a bit over budget. http://www.thomann.de/gb/t-amp_ta2400.htm but unless you look second hand you be hard to find somthing good for that price at 1600w + @ 8ohms

the above amp is a nice sounds and loud amp (maybe a rebaged c-mark)

id recommend against using one 1600w amp on speakers like this

when you feed 800w down the speakers, the 150w ones will be getting 400w of that sound and the 600w ones will only get 400w

use two amps

also i highly doubt your speakers are 600w either, this is probably a Max or Peak Wattage

Err, no. ;) Forget the one with the 8 on it. That's advanced.

The legend on the two outside speakons is MINIMUM 4ohms. 8 is fine. Two pairs of 8 would give 4, theoretically fine, but subject to certain small print. ;) :D

I'd be inclined to guess that the 600w isn't RMS. ;) ;) :( Thus I'd suggest something like.

As posted previously, using wildly mismatched cabs in parallel is a recipe for disaster.
I'd get another amp, and use one amp for each pair of cabs.

The preferred (costly) upgrade path is to get a bigger amp than the one I linked, a pair of subs, an active crossover, use the big amp to run the subs, and let the prosound run the tops.

Its the minimum it can handle,

I.E 4 Ohms Stereo
OR 8 Ohms Bridged,

But you can put an 8ohm speaker each side of the amp fine, Or double it up with 2 8 ohm speakers and it becomes 4 ohms

Cheers, I think I have confused some people.

I intend getting another amp so I can run both sets of speakers at the same time.

At present I either have to use my ProSounds or the other not both, that's why I want to get another amp.

Why can't you use both ?

You got from the amp into one pair speakers, out that pair into another

because one pair is "supposedly" 600w and one is 150w, a total mismatch

before spending more money on Junk, have you considered saving up and buying a decent Amp/Speaker combo, so that you dont have to lump 4 speakers around?

When you say your speakers are 600watt are they RMS or peak?

If they are rms I dont see why you would be running 150rms alongside them?

If you still need an amp, take a look at this - link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MATRIX-UKP1300-AMPLIFIER-MADE-IN-UK-BRAND-NEW-AMP_W0QQitemZ160314182255QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Mus icalInstr_Amplifiers_RL?hash=item160314182255&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A13 18|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50)

I understand it's over your budget.

The amp may look cheap but I can tell you it's not. It's not what it looks like, it what it can do. :)
