equinox nebula and defraction laser

Does anyone know the difference between the equinox nebula laser and the soundlab defraction laser...they both the same amount of mw but the soundlab is substantially cheaper. I already have a nebula and was fantastic but the red no longer shows but i still get good comments and feedback off randomers in pubs. Im just wondering whether i would be better off going for the cheaper soundlab one this time..anyone had any expereince or know? thanlks andy

There is very little difference between the 2 I have had both. The soundlab green is maybe slightly darker than the equinox and the equinox is slightly smoother. But that is about it.

if the red has gone dull, take it back under warranty if you can?

i have heard a lot of people who have had problems with the soundlab version although i have no first hand experience.

I'd be very suprised if the warranty covers laser diodes. It's like a manufacturer wont give you a warranty on a standard bulb, it's the same for diodes.

Laser diode warranties on the budget effects are usually 90 days.

Go up the cost scale and 12 months isn't uncommon.

prolight ones will generally do 12 months warranty on the diode, unless the engineer is in a bad mood!

having seen both products and tested them --- i purchased the kam star cluster,i know it is slightly more expensive than both products you mention but is in my opinion well worth the extra(about £60 more i think) as it is a far brighter laser with a smoother operation

I disagree. I have seen them side by side and there isn't a great deal of difference with the brightness at all.
