Hi Guys,

I am thinking of offering Karaoke as I am being asked for it more and more.

Could you point me in the direction of some OKish mics please, that will do the job and don't need to be flashy or top of the range.

Cheers,

Scott.

EDIT: What Effects processor would you recommend? Would a Behringer Virtualizer do?

P.S. Will these do (Have no idea why it's not displaying properly):

I've a Behringer Virtualizer in my home studio. It's a handy piece of kit, so for an all in one effects processor it's worth the money.

Hi,

I 2nd the Kam 1940's, a bit pricier than the ones on ebay, but probably sound so much better.

I use an Alesis mixer with built in effects for a bit of echo on the mics!

Cheers

They're are probably OK, however they are VHF and not UHF, so may be prone to a little more interferance, and they don't have selectable channels like the 1940's.

We use a very cheap VHF set with our Karaoke for the more Drunk or otherwise punters, and don't have any problems with them being on VHF.

Cheers

if you want wired mics - then there are 3 mic sets available widely on ebay for between £30-35,they are made by behringer and i can say that they do the job pretty well without breaking the bank.my only advice would be to use xlr instead of jack leads as i find they tend to get to higher levels without feeding back.

Cheap and Nasty, eBay Microphones (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-DOUBLE-Wireless-Professional-Microphone-Mic-System_W0QQitemZ400048050129QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ Music_Instruments_Microphones_MJ?hash=item40004805 0129&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:2|39:1|240:1307|301:1|293:1|294: 50)

No they are cheap and nasty, and only have a claimed range of 10m, I wouldn't waste my money on them.
