New Truss

Hello Folks,

After chatting to a couple of members off the forum on MSN, regarding new truss, I'm left a little confused.

My original idea was to buy 3m of giraffe tri-truss and use it above my ultimax stand, however having put together my own truss from bits off the ultimax site there isn't much price difference.

For 3m of Giraffe Tritruss with truss adapters & ultimax poles (i don't have any, due to me buying the base only) it's £190ish.

But for 2.5m of Trusslite, with the split vertical poles, 7 G-clamps and the adapters, it's £206.

Basically, i'd just like your opinion on what would look best? I like the tritruss idea because it offers another hanging point, but like the ultimax because i think it looks more professional.

One more thing i had though about is that my deck stand is 1.2m wide, so i'm guessing that the 2.5m truss wouldn't look as stupid as the 3m?

When i get some more cash, i'm going to make a cable loom so in effect, it's pre-wired.

The Ultimax system is the best looking, not too "Commercial" looking, and not loads of metal rods in mixed directions. I Agree, it does look more professional.

I have seen one of your videos, and all your lights (in video) appeared to be LED Fixtures. If so, then you can just go 'Power In' and 'Power Out', daisy chaining the power.

This would save making a power loom, and if there is no 'Power Out', you can use an IEC Distribution block.

There's loads about, just look try a Google Search on it.

Most Suppliers of electrical equipment, and possibly Disco Specialists will usually stock them. Costs under £10.00

He doesn't need the stand though, as stated in his first post, he's got an Ultimax stand, which will be far better quality than the one in your link.

that link is interesting

its a Giraffe stand, one of the picures is even trying to disguise the Giraffe label, yet that stand isnt even listed on the Giraffe website

is this Giraffe selling direct to customers or is this someone buying direct from the factory??
