hi all
ive just been given a set of Peavey Messenger Pro Sub Subwoofer unpowered at 4 ohms
the question is i have a set of Mackie S215 passive 2-way speakers 8 ohm
and a Crown XLS 602 amp
whats the best way to set these up ( thats if i can) because of ohms law

Active crossover and separate amp. However, I'm assuming that when you said "best" you meant "easiest" or "cheapest".
Easiest and cheapest is just plug the Mackies into the high out on the Peaveys. I don't think for a minute this will be satisfactory. Although it will work, I wouldn't recommend it. Sorry.

I would say get an active crossover and have separate amps for the bass bins and tops. Will will have more control and it would also give you a better sound. :)

Preferably the higher grade amp should run subs, as it's hard work, and also you want more power there but suck it and see. You will gain control and quality with the crossover. ;)
