Gloves when loading equipment!

Im Just wondering if you lot wear gloves to load equipment, as i get realy bad hands (dont know how to explain) hards bits of skin at the lower bits of my fingers.

do any of you have the same problem.

I don't wear gloves but I have hand cream which I use after a gig to help keep my hands soft and not flaky.

Yep as a severe sufferer with Eczema on my hands (to the extent of deep cuts and not being able to move my fingers or hands when an outbreak happens) i always try to wear gloves - and the first thing i do when i get in after a gig is wash my hands and put loads of cream on them.

Either of the links already posted are spot on for the job as they leave your thumb and forfinger glove free for all the fiddly bits! where as if the glove was complete you'd struggle.

One word of warning though is don't forget to give them a wash in the washing machine often as after a very short amount of wears sweat will build up in them!

Used to when working for another company (just doing deliveries & set ups all day), but since working for Corabar, I don't. Probably because we have better quality flightcases.

I don't use gloves or handcream, should do though as my hands are pretty screwed from drumming so much!

Always when wheeling trunks, racks & stacks and operating tail lifts.
Always when working heavy mains cables, eg 5 core 16mm
And always when working with any diameter cable, power or speaker, in wet or muddy conditions.
Pretty much elementary H&S stuff, really.

I wear drum gloves from a company called Ahead.

Works wonders and the grip you get is really good.

I always wear gloves whem I am moving my cases around. With me having so many cases from Swanflight I have found on the handles they have their logo embedded on them and it really digs into your hands when you have been carrying them for a while.

Hmmmmmmmmmm. Speaking as a man who went to give blood once, and they couldn't puncture my fingers, gloves are not my highest priority. ;) :D

Do you know they had one of those in the nightmare venue for access called the Whites Room at the Hop Farm, Paddock Wood, Tonbridge.

That sofa's not gonna be big enough when I catch you pal. ;) ;) I sometimes use gloves in the day job, and as for cream, as a Dad I'm sure you've heard of Sudocrem. ;) :eek: :eek: :D :D aL Us lads all have a tub in the van.

( Younger readers may not know why this is so funny. Ask your parents. It's another product where the cheap bulk item outperforms the brand names. )

Really seriously, if you ever get a crack in your skin, the best product known to mankind is "Snowfire" . Not easy to find, but nothging even comes close. It's in a tube like a huge lip salve.
