Was it just me, or did anyone ELSE think it looked more like a bike magazine rather than one about mobile discos?

There was a reason for that which was explained in the mag.

Thanks Darren. I've read it now.

I don't understand one of the reasons, though. They say nobody has sent in any pics of their set up. If that's the case, surely it would be better to use a pic of some lighting effects or something.

As I said before, I think it's common sense for all magazines to have something on the cover which reflects the content. I wonder if my local newsagent has any BMX bike magazines with a photo of a mobile disco on the front?

I argee with you Rob but Pro mobile isnt likely to be on sale in newsagents but sent direct to disco companys.

If you join NADJ or SEDA, you get a years subscription as part of the membership.

As I am a member of both, I now get 2 magazines.

I got my free one, and wasnt overly impressed. Granted they keep emailing me and other issues look better so i could have just got a crap issue, but its kind of put me off :)

I got sent a free copy, and have been passed on a few copies from other sources. I didn't think much of it to be honest. When I voiced that opinion a while back I was told that DJs should be supporting it as it's the only publication of it's kind for mobile DJs. I don't agree. If my opinion of it is that it's crap, then I wont be wasting my hard earned pennies on crap.

At the end of the day I thought it had too much ads and not enough interesting content (in the copies I saw). I could get all the information within the magazine and more for free from online forums. So I doubt I'll ever be subscribing.

It does have too many ads but it usually does have some good articles.

Slightly off topic, is the July and August one out?
I used to get one from NADJ but I haven’t seen one for a while, maybe I need to chase it up.

Yes got mine a while ago three weeks or so?

In reply to Shauns post Im guessing it could have less adverts but then they have to cover the costs?

Is there a mobile dj mag that retails in smiths etc....

In fact I'll ring them tomorrow thinking about it.... Wont have to pay for it either :D

I got the bike one as a freebie, and wasn't that impressed to be honest... I find the discussions on internet forums such as this one more useful, especially to a beginner like myself.

I'm not into the magazines. I read it once and found out as much as I would do on these forums so I don't bother anymore.

There have been some excellent articles in Pro-Mobile over the last few years, many of which have produced little ideas that I have been able to adopt and adapt to suit my business. Agreed that this forum is also a great source of ideas, but why limit yourself to the ideas of a certain group, there's a whole wide world out there, some of which doesn't subscribe to "the web", which doesn't make their ideas any less helpful, or indeed interesting, just slightly from another angle. Variation and divergence is always a good thing, tunnel vision rarely is.
