black trusslite

I was thinking about having my trusslite powder coated in black.
Also having the two uprights done as well ( if you can powder coat over chrome ).
Reason being.
Black front curtain ,speaker cabs , lights, cables , so why not have it all the same.
Your comments please.

I think it will look good as I prefer black over silver.

I think the only problem you might have is finding a place with an oven big enough to bake it. There is a place local to me.

Just to give you a price, one alloy wheel costs around £40. I have been told that is very cheap so I have no idea what the cost would be for the trusslite.

That's something that if fins strange with ultimax stands why chrome? That's why I wont get one TBH looks so off.

Anodizing or plating may be cheaper than powder coating. Gun metal plating is very dark and almost black. I used to work for an engineering company and we sent stuff to be plated all the time and they can plate huge items easily.
Failing that buy some hammerite :)

That`s not a bad idea.

But in the robust life of a mobile DJ , would it stand up to a few knocks and scrapes.

I have the Ultimax black speaker stands and after about a year they are starting to look a bit tatty.

OK , I am not Damien :D :Laugh:

This relates to a purchase of 4 ryger tinyscans + dmx controller from member Blitz.
These are being totally stripped down .
new lamps , cooling fans , mirrors ( mirrors are original from Ryger), the cases will be blasted and re-podwer coated , even though Ryger still have about 50 cases.
These will not be in black , more a very deep crimson ( no idea why :D ).
I have some 1" square steel section which will be the top bar.
This will give me a choice of 2 totally different lighting rigs for the ultimax stand.
I have taken a few pics , but I`ll add a new topic with details when complete.

I agree with that , but as the bar will be pre wired , I will place a small rubber tape where the clamps will hang , also on the mounting points where it connects to the uprights.
The uprights pose more of a problem as they slide up and down the guide tubes , I`ll work on that one.

I will be taking my trusslite and the ultimax uprights to be power coated this week.
