Well, i just thought i'd share with you my bargain of the century. I was on ebay last week and came across 3 scanners, one with a dmx fault but easily fixed and thought i would put in a bid for them after doing my research to see how much they were new.

The scanners were the Coef performance 1200 which has a 1200w discharge lamp too. So......i though well i'll stick in a silly bid of £300 and see where it goes and ledt it at that.

It wasn't till Monday when i got my invoice request that i realised that i had actually won the lot for my original £300. That £4500 of scanners for £300.

it might need a load of power but the venues which they will be used will have more than enough power anyhow.

And you can't tell me you wouldn't have had a stab lol

I'm a big fan of eBay to, but I'm curious as to where and when you expect to use them, do you do 'Stadium' gigs? and did you realise how big (40keach) and powerful they were when you bid on them?

Well if i'm gonna be honest i didnt realise just how big they were but who cares my point was that they were a bargain and even if i only use them 3 times a year it don't matter.

I mean i play at some big venues that i could use them in but like i say it's just good to get a real bargain.

i knew what they were worth definately so i knew they were big but didnt realise the shear size of them till i picked them up

At the end of the day the size, weight, how many amps you need to run these is not as issue, as Tony said he would kill for a pair of these. Now i might only use them 2 or 3 times a year, in fact i coukld easily have done without them, i just saw the potential bargain and thought yeah...... i'll have a look at them.

I Stuck them on my lighting desk last night and wow what a show piece they are

I'm Taking them to our local venue tonight so we can put them on the desk whilst in the venue with some haze. I'll put a video on as soon as i get back tonight.
