what have you started and not finished

is there anything you've stared when setting up and not finished after being disturbed or anything you forgot todo before starting,or is it just me and my age

Same here.

It takes me about an hour to set up a disco, but I always arrive somewhere between ninety minutes and two hours beforehand.

Quiz nights only take about ten minutes to set up, but even with them I arrive between 45 minutes and an hour before the start time.

I once forgot to click the 'on' switch on my 6-way plug bank on the plug that had my laptop plugged in. Needless to say about halfway through the gig, the screen went blank, luckily the music kept playing and when I switched the plug on, all was well.

I've never made that mistake again, luckily it was only a pub gig.

I too always arrive early (I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to punctuality). It takes me about an hour to set up too but like Rob, I'm usually there 1 1/2 or 2 hours before (especially if it's a new venue to me).

we were lucky on this occasion because this all happened in the afternoon set up, if it had been an evening we would of noticed it as soon as he done his lighting check making sure they were working properly and pointing where he wanted them.we also always try to arrive early,we all know how long it takes to set up our rigs, but if something does go wrong you need a bit of spare time to put it right.the last time we were caught out by something unexepected was when we turned up to find another dj already set up waiting to play the same party:eek: we had signed booking form and deposits,he did not a quick phone call to the client and all was sorted.so we had to wait for him to pack away before we could move in

Sometimes forget to tape down the odd cable. I do however do a sound check and a visable check of the rig from the dancefloor and far side of the room so 99% of the time its picked up before show time

99% of the time, garaunteed it's the 1% of the time when you haven't done something right:)

I find it's best to wait til the spin cycle is over before opening the washing machine door. Works for me :D ;) :p :D

When powering up, more often than not I've missed something - plugging in a cable, turning a master up - as there's no sound :o

As of yet I have remembered everything to a gig. It's hard to forget something really as I have a good system going. (keep all the gear near the garage door :D)

Do I forget things in general day to day life? That my friend's is another story and thread all together :D :sj: :D

I have have forgotten to take my speaker stands to a gig before :o. Luckaly it was at the local primary school and a quick trip back. :D
