Get that spellchecker warmed up, I've just had a hard day in town on the Day Job. Fortunately, on the way out I pass a Pub and a Chippy. :D :D :D :D The chippy is so good that when I'm working there, Jeanette will not allow me to come home without purchasing our tea from there. Even better, across the road from the chippy is a Real Ale Pub which is happy to fill my plastic barrel with four pints of Castle Rock Screech Owl. 5.5%, lovely. ;)

As an added bonus, I've just had the Honour of speaking to a Legend. :youdaman: :youdaman: I hope to have the honour of buying him a pint shortly. I hope Penmare doesn't heckle him too savagely tonight. ;)

OK. This may be hard for some folk to understand, but those of us who travel in our work, and drive home from it are obviously limited quite rightly by the drink driving laws. This can be particularly galling when you have parked opposite a Real Ale Pub with eight handpumps. :( :( :( :(

All is not lost, however, if you own a four or eight pint barrel. Helpful bar staff will fill your receptacle in exchange for the appropriate coin of the realm, and you may carry it home and drink it at your leisure, thus staying within the law. Round here, there are a couple of off-licences with handpumps, who operate thus. The barrels are designed for carrying beer, and you take the sparkler off and fill it.
