We did our first proper gig last week, whoo-hoo! The reason I say 'proper' is that we've done some club dj'ing and pub karaoke's, but last weekend was our first disco gig with the full rig.

Anyway, shortly after deciding to get into this business, we stumbled across this website and found loads of helpful tips on here, from what lights were recommended, playlists (top tens), organising tracks, scrutinizing set ups, advertising, website help, etc.

Suffice to say the night went fantastically well, the daughter of the birthday girl, who had organised the event, couldn't thank us enough and said that we were better than the dj they had for their wedding and 25% cheaper. She also advised us that we needed to put our prices up and she will be giving us a call about her mother in laws 60th early next year (so she'll be getting the new higher quote next time - haha).

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here who has offered advice, it's all been really useful and I'm sure we've still got lots to learn so thanks in advance for the advice you're all about to give too - probably starting with loads of comments about our rig when I post a picture in the gallery shortly.

Cheers,
Chris & Amanda

That's really good to hear:approve: I'm pleased it went well for you!

Lets not forget our members spend a lot of time on the forum, aiding each other in the industry. They wouldn't be able to do this however, if it wasn't for the good will of one particular man.....I will say no more :)

Congrats on your first mobile gig, Chris. Nothing quite like the buzz of those early gigs. Enjoy every moment of them :) :)
