Right guys gonna pick the old grey matter tonight.

Currently have a skytec smoke machine. Not a big fan of it cant control the output other than on and off. Also when you release some smoke it spits it out pretty fast so moves along the ground for a good six or seven feet before it starts to "float" upwards towards the lights. Even positioning this in such a fashion (usually under one of the speaker stands aimed towards the front of the deckstand).

What Im wanting is smoke/haze/fog whatever to be effective. I dont however want to be filling the room full of smoke and making everyone gag!

Now the guys at my local shop have mentioned that Kam did a fog machine where you can control the angle the smoke comes out. They remember being five preset positions so you can have it angled up at 45 degrees. Im wanting this so the machine can be positions near the deckstand (sometimes dont have much room). Now the guys looked at the kam website it doesnt appear that they have a machine that you can do this. Does anyone here know of anything that might work?

Any haze/smoke machine for under £100 is going to look cheap and not last that long surely?

Yeah I dont mind paying money for a quality machine. Im thinking around £250-£300 tops?

I used to have a Martin smoke machine and it did the job very well.

I use the acme hp 200 haze machine its better than my kam smoke machine.The martin range i have heard is also very good.

Also bear in mind the different grades of haze \smoke fluids that you can buy.in my oppinion there is a difference between the standard one and the more expensive ones.

Couldn't agree more - the cheaper ones can set off smoke alarms ;)

So do I, a Martin Magnum 800, had it for over 3 years, powerful enough for just about every gig I do.

I have 2 Jem ZR12 AL machines, and they both set off alarms (using Jem/Martins fluid too)

It has an adjustable angle of output? That was the machine they were looking at in the shop but makes no mention of this feature?

Im still only looking for adjustable fog/smoke machine guys. Im fully aware of which machine I will be getting if this product isnt on the market.

It was looking at their specs now it doesn't mention it as you say, and I've just noticed someones changed my original write up on it, on my works website too. Strange. Will have to look into that.

Would it not be easier to get some kind of adapter to fit over the end of your existing smoke machine. The ocal club has the Martin Club Smokes, and this fits perfectly over the end to produce vertical jets...

Yeah thats a road I could go down however with the skytec one I have I doubt thats going to be easy looking at what part of the machine I can attact such an adaptor too. May influence the choice of machine I buy too if like I said there isnt a machine on the market that does this as standard
