PayPal Scam

I have had this E-Mail today and it has Scam written all over it.


Dear PayPal member,

As a security measure, we regularly screen PayPal activity. Recently, we
noticed a problem with your account.

We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party.
We have limited access to sensitive PayPal account features in case your
account has been accessed by an unauthorized third party. We understand
that having limited access can be an inconvenience, but protecting your
account is our primary concern.

We've limited access to your account temporarily. We'll review the
limitation once you respond with the information we've requested.

To respond and remove the limitation, please visit PayPal as soon as possible

DO NOT CLICK THE LINK!!! I logged in to my PayPal account normally by opening another window and typing in the PayPal address and there is absolutely nothing wrong with my account.

This is one of the hundreds of scam emails I've also received.

Yeah I get these emails too. I always forward them onto [email protected] and they respond to the matter very quickly (within a few days)

From what i can see it is actually a PayPal site:confused:

Just found this on the paypal website under phishing


Generic Email Greeting. A typical phishing email will have a generic greeting, such as “Dear User.” Note: All PayPal emails will greet you by your first and last name.

Thats because its been copied/pasted as text and its become a genuine link. In the email the text is a correct address for paypal, but the link actually goes to a different site :)
