We have been booked last minute for a wedding, in a large hall. up to now we have not used the light boxes we aquirred as most shows have been in small to mid sixed halls, added to the fact that we cannot decide on light boxes or starcloth for covering the deckstand. this gig really needs as much as we can give it so i feel we have no choice other than getting a controller. funds are tight so what should we look at a cheapie now or spend a bit for a piece of kit we may not use much in the future. the light boxes are also fitted with a bulgin socket should i change to a 7 pin iec or leave as is.
i know someone will have the answer.

thanks guys

Sounds like you need a 4 channel chaser with Bulgin output. You may find something on Ebay really cheap that will do the job.

Chris

If the boxes are fitted with Bulgin PX0552 or PX0957 sockets, ONE of these on each box should be replaced with a PX0959/P inlet, the other may be left as a link outlet. Any leads with PX0551s on both ends should have ONE end replaced with a PX0956/S socket.

Once you have a box with one 552/957 and one 959 fitted, it is even more important NEVER to use an old 551-551 lead to connect a single box, as you'd then have a nastier widowmaker in the form of the 959.

If doing this yourself, ensure the work is checked ant PAT'd by a competent person before plugging it in.

Hope this helps
