Keep an eye on the "For Sale" section on this very forum.

Speakers come up every so often and at least if you get them here they "should" be half decent.

Yeah, it will be best to know a rough budget before people making suggestions and helping you out. :)

My advice would be...spend as much as you possibly can now, on quality gear that won't let you down and is going to last you! There is no point splashing out on a few hundred and then have to do it again in a year or so....:)

£500 is a good budget.

Ones for that price range are Peavey UL15's or Pro 12's, Class D's or mackies are the most common speakers used by members here. (im talking in terms of second hand price)

You can get a brand new set of Pro 15's and a reasonable amp for £500 :o

For me, speakers are probably the one thing I wouldn't want to buy secondhand. They're just too important in the grand scheme of things.

Proplem with the pro's is they dont have much bottom end so with them you'll be wanting to get bass bins too hence why I included them as a second hand price :P

I got mine as ex rental from a local store. I do however know these guys really well and I know they wouldnt sell me rubbish and they checked the drivers etc.. before letting me have them. You dont get that "insurance" with buying off someone you dont know so what VV holds alot of truth, just depends if the OP is ok with second hand or not.
