Hi all.

Im looking to get some sort of drape / cloth / covering type thing, to hang over the front of tables to cover all the unsightly wires etc from the back of my equipment.
Probably something in black with my logo or name on it and phone number, big enough for people to read, but not too big!

Does anyone know where I can order these on the internet, or know of anywhere local to Essex / East London?

Cheers in advance.

I would recommend getting a deckstand with a starcloth, it will look a lot neater! :D

Cheers.
Just had a look at your gallery on your website.
Does actually look tidy.
Is there a possibility to get your compnay name and tel number printed onto that star cloth in any way?

Why would you want a huge advert on the front? I think it looks much more pro. with either a blank black cloth or a starcloth.

Why would I want a huge advert you ask?

Well, cos its advertising my business, and theres nothing like a bit of free advertising!

Each to their own and all that!

There is a guy on this forum - I think Crimson Tide Disco - who has a black cloth with his company details on.

Personally I think they look tacky, but as you say each to there own, although have you thought about these facts:

1. You have a banner advertising your number and rather than a potential client asking for a business card with your number on etc. they take your details off your banner while they have had a drink and write it down wrong?

2. If you do a bad gig and touch wood you don't do you really want your company details on show? Especially if you are finding the ropes the last thing you want is a bad start!

3. When people are dancing in front of your deckstand are they really looking at your advertising?!

4. If someone wants your details and could be a potential client wouldn't you like to give them a card and have a chance face to face to speak to them?! I know I would and have the chance to sell myself and get them to cook asap rather than to late for there function!!!

Hope that helps.

James

Yeah, i've got it too. The quality of curtain isn't that good though - i replaced mine with curtain blackout lining.

Yes it does advertise your business, but why don't you put some business cards in a rack or holder so people can take one whenever they choose, gone are the days when DJ's put a great whopping banner in front of their decks, as the other guys say try a star cloth or just some plain black canvas or similar, you would be suprised how tidy this looks.....just my opinion!....:)

I used a banner for over 20 years and it didn't do my business any harm.

No, possibly not, but if it looked that good you'd still be using one now - right?

A bit of a naive comment. ;)

Things change and people's ideas change. You have to go with what people are looking for at the time and what suits your market.

I actually had people find me in the YP because they remembered the logo or the name of the company.

I personally still can't see any big deal about using a banner or mentioning which company supplied the disco.

Unless the OP did some work for an agent, as agents don't like you advertising your own company name while working for them.

Yep.
I`me the one :D :D

Guilty as charged m`laud

Mine has "Crimson tide disco" across the top , and the logo underneath.
IMHO I like it , but , with more weddings coming up I may adopt a plain black pleated front curtain.

I dont have telephone numbers , web/email address on the front , I have cards for that , IMO that is a little over the top.
Does it work ? well I haven't got a clue :D :D

Cheers

Agreed, but that goes without saying. ;)

Large corporates are the same too.

Before i liked the idea of having the name on the front of the disco because people knew who you are.

Ive had 2x lightboxes with a light up box sign on the front.
