Party for 22 anyone?

Well i am not one to come on here moaning about how bad my gig was,but tonights gig was poorly attended.

It was a corporate gig where they got a 4 course meal,and free bar all night.Only problem for me was there was only 22 people there.The ones that wanted to dance seemed to have a good time.I feel that i give the same level of customer service no matter what the numbers are.

What is the least ammount that you have had at your gig?

Sounds like a good company to work for if employees did not turn up.

Saying that, there is an event in our diary for next weekend and organizer told us there is only 27 people.

Well, the answer to that will be 4. Me, two barmaids and 1 punter - all night.

It was a karaoke disco in a village pub. Needlessly to say, it didn't last very long (nor did the pub for that matter!).

I have noticed the lack of attendance, particularly at weddings lately. The past half dozen or so weddings have had few people turning up.

I did a wedding reception above the Thai restaurant in Camberley High Street for 17 people. Really tight staircase and a got a parking ticket, so yes I really remember that gig well!!!!!

Had a 30th booked one Saturday last summer - about 7 or 8 family members showed up plus birthday boy and his girlfriend.

And a buffet for 120 :eek:

All wrapped up by 10:30 as there really was no point going on.

Just one of those things I guess!!

Have to say i can beat that,

Christmas eve 2 years ago, booked for wine bar in Birmingham City Centre walked into venue 8pm ready to setup , Not a person in bar , 2 staff behind bar,

8.15pm walked out paid bar closed.

so i surposed not really a bad gig cause it didn't actually happen

felt sorry for the staff even though they got to go home early.

Yeah, I will be honest...I have never had a "low attendance" at a gig, compared to the amount of people expected to turn up. :)

And to add.......... It seems as though there are more and more gigs finishing earlier due to the lack of attendance, people going early, or unless it is me being a :Censored: DJ :D :D

Last year I had 3 gigs finished early, yet this year have had 7 so far :eek:

You'd think, in this day and age taht free food and booze for a night out would be a major drawcard - it's not hard to buy a decent and expensive looking wedding present for not much dosh ;)

Done an 18th in famous Liverpool hotel on Saturday, fair sized room and 30 people, 15 of who had gone by 10pm. Was drab but girl was made up. In the other function room there was another DJ doing a wedding, pretty much the same numbers and similar sort of departing went on.

Then Sunday done a Communion which was decent enough for attendance before heading to 'fill in' at a social club were I played from 8 till 12 for 6 people, 4 of which only came in after 10.30pm.

The record though was a few months back when I was asked to do a bikers wedding. The couple kept telling me that they just wanted a rock disco which was fine by me as that's my vice when I not doing general parties etc., they said that the rock disco would be great as all their biker mates were coming from all over the country to meet up at the wedding. It ended up being me, the couple and one mum. The barmaid was only in the room now and again as she just served the main bar most of the night whilst popping in to top my 3 friends up every half hour.

I have once. It was a karaoke at a local snooker club. I had no-one sing until nearly ten o'clock. Then, at ten past ten, one lad sung pretty vacant by the sex pistols. Half way through, the manager came over and shouted "Right. Turn that off now. I'm not having that in my club!". I was paid, packed up and on my way home at half ten.

Never went there again!

Not positive it was the lowest attendance but it does stick in my mind. About 3 years a go a double birthdays for 2 girls. None of one girls guests turned up at all and only 10 or so for the other girl. Tears all round for them it was very sad. No one danced and a very sombre mood desbite my best efforts.

That is absolutely pathetic!
As a DJ, you are supposed to take on requests etc, and that includes Karaoke ... which is exactly what you did.

The Manager didn't like the track, so had a go at you. :bang: :bang: :bang:
