I attended my little nephew's football presentation and the DJ there was real cowboy.

First thing is the terrible sound when entering the room the sound was so poor after the presentation I left (worst 90 minutes, things you do for family).

This DJ's choice in music was unbelievable and clear demonstrated his lack of knowledge of music. He announced that Steps was the greatest as it was best thing since bread.

When the buffet came on he must have select auto play on the laptop which played better music than he did.

His equipment in terms of presence was older than he was I think; make a great items on the antiques roadshow.

So in the end I got his number, DJ's name and his company name to which I stored in my phone under the category "never in a million years"

What was he charging though ???

To be fair a lot of football clubs want as cheap as possible as opposed to wasting valuable funds. I never get these gigs apart from 2 clubs which I do cheap, as I support them, and an odd last minute cancellation.

My local town for example will not pay above £40.

I did a football presentation tonight. The money was a lot more than £40 and they loved it! The DJ the week before was "alright" they said as he just played the top 40....when I saw the crowd and their age I played a whole range of music, from "Blue Moon" to "Mr Rock & Roll" to "Logical Song" to "Why do fools fall in love" as background music...the disco was the usual, bit of Robbie, Suprems, Shaina Twain, Bryan Adams and of course Tom Jones :D

Ive done two football presentations this month, same club just different ages, the younger lot loved it, had a full dance floor most of the night. The second of 2 gigs the older lot left staright after the speeches which was close too two hours! We was left with around 40 people and turned it into karoake as we played steve walsh - i found lovin' which got around 25 of em up for the last hour or so :)
