Hey,
I'm thinking of buying a new sound system.
I started off with some Peavey Eurosys 500xt speakers along with a PV1500 amp and although I loved these speakers I got lazy and decided to upgrade and go for a lightweight active system, and bought a pair of Mackie SRM450's. The Mackies have served me well over the past 3 years, but now I think they're beginning to sound really harsh and I'm going off them!
I've always had a thing for wanting some Martin Audio speakers since working in a bar which had the EM26s' installed. Obviously needing something larger than the EM26 speakers for large function work, I've been toying with the idea of the F15+ speakers.
I've managed to find a company in Liverpool selling them for £747 per cab, which seems quite good. But if I did decide to buy them I'm unsure as to what amp to get, as some companies are selling them packaged with the QSC RMX2450 and some with the RMX1850HD.
Would really appreciate your views on whether to buy or not. Yes I know they'll be a lot heavier but hopefully it'll be worth it with the sound quality.
Also, although I'd love to buy some subs with them, I really don't have the room at the moment, and I don't have a van either, so its just the tops I'm gonna be needing.
Cheers
