Anyone else believe in it?

I did an all day event for my son's new school on Friday for nothing and may have got something very interesting out of it....I'll let you know. ;)

What goes around comes around. I know I've posted a story about that before, and probably will do again. Sure as eggs is eggs, you reap what you sow. Sounds a bit Mary Poppins, but I believe it to be roughly true.

karma is more you do good things and good things will happean to you Rob. Theres a great programme on E4 called my name is Earl which is all about that.

I dont belive in Karma as such, but then it doesnt stop you doing nice things for other people. In fact knowing your doing a good deed for someone else is reward enough.

I had another powered EV speaker about 25m away along a fence to spread the sound a bit more.

Sports day in the morning and fun day in the afternoon.

I haven't enjoyed myself so much in years. Interviewing, commentry, requests, dedications and announcing winners of raffles etc. Great fun, but fairly tiring - got there at 8am and got home at around 4:30pm.

As well as a very good lead, I also gave out a couple of cards to people getting married!!

I live my life on the basis, "Things always happen in three." My whole life depends on this....it's yet to fail on me. All decisions, choices and arrangements in my day to day life depend on that statement....If not, I believe in "3." Third time it will happen, third time it won't, happens in three, it will be better the third time, it wont be better the third time, it will be good three times...etc etc...

The amount of time I have spent in school out of hours is phenomenal! It better all come back. 4 concerts, a prize giving and an opening ceremony. none of them paid as im the only person that can do it all until I train a willing victim. :sj:

Daz - good work. I'm always up for stuff like this because as you say (and have found out) it's good for business as well as the soul. Carnival season is about to start down here and we have loads of events planned over the summer - some paid, mostly not. But each brings its rewards :beer1:

If I've understood that right, then it goes back to the old argument of working for free, or at a discount, in order to gain exposure and potential bookings. However, in this case, it would seem like that wasn't your intention, and it came as a bonus?

As for karma, or any superstitions - not, I don't buy it. However, if you are generous and helpful to everyone within the wider circle of your friends and family (both immediate and extended) - it wouldn't be a surprise to have favours and good deeds returned as a result. Now you might call me cynical, but in this day and age I think you'd hand out more good turns than you'd receive :(

Try living round here mate. ;) Agricultural community, I do a lot of little jobs which aren't worth charging for, but I could borrow a loading shovel and tractor and trailer tomorrow because of it. ( illustrative purposes only, I might want a plough! :D ) Don't forget you've got a pint in if you ever catch me at a DJ show, so you're slightly more altruistic than you may wish to appear. ;) ;)

It's a win-win, you feel good about it, and you get your face in front of loads of potential customers. You portray the image of a trustworthy fellow parent, and they've seen you and your gear working, thus they have experience of it, and confidence in you. Perhaps it's not quite as altruistic as we think. :confused: ;) ;) ;)

Yes very much so. In fact i unwitting base everything i do on it it think?

some things can be fate and others just luck though i think.

All i know is as soon as i changed my way of thinking and realized that good things come from bad etc. my life has become so much richer and more fun.

I just look at miserable gits and think "whats the point" what a waste of energy. not that im 100% positive all the time though. i have my moments.

Did a charity gig on Sunday and learnt allot from it. i try and do at least five a year. people can take the p a bit if you do too much for free though.
