Hi,

does anyone understand the Google Maps system?

I have registered a business address on google maps and if you do a search for "wellingborough disco" I rank up there as F - That's sixth postion. Which is not bad at all.

But when I put in the search term of Northamptonshire Disco, I do not get a listing. I can't understand why not.

It would be better to get listed in the county and not the town.

Any help appreciated from any SEO Gurus :bang:

Dear Google Customer,

Thank you for taking the time to look over our proposal.

Over the last few years, the internet has grown to such an extent that no matter
what industry you are involved in or what your demographic is, it is vital to have
an online presence. As a company that has invested time and resources into creating
an online presence, I am sure you are aware of the importance of gaining exposure
for your website.

There are many routes your potential client base could use to find a product or
service, however it is statistically proven that the vast majority of all online searches
and therefore all online business is directed through Google and more specifically
the 1st page of Google.

Most people are aware of the power Google holds, although very few people know how
to take advantage of Google's search volume. As a licensed Google retailer, we are able
to offer a package that is unsurpassed within the marketplace. The offer is as follows:

. YOUR OWN SPONSORED LINK 1ST PAGE OF GOOGLE
. INCREDIBLE VALUE FOR MONEY (just £129 plus a one-off activation fee of £20!!)

PACKAGES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

1. GUARANTEED 1ST PAGE GOOGLE POSITIONS WITHIN 48 HOURS - the top 5 search
phrases, that are the most lucrative to your business, covering the area? or regions
required.
2. THE OPTION TO INCREASE OR DECREASE YOUR SEARCH TERMS - no long term contract.
3. FULL SUPPORT FROM A DEDICATED CAMPAIGN MANAGER - Monthly Position Reports,
Free unlimited search phrase changes, Money Back Guarantee if not live within 48 hours.

As I am sure you will agree our offer is truly staggering. As a company we do not pride
ourselves on just offering amazing online exposure, we focus on what really matters,
and that is of course generating a high level of return for each and every client.

We simply ask that you put your faith in us to do what we do best, for just one month
and we are more than confident that based on the results you will be happy to stay with
us for a much longer time frame.

Kind Regards,

Seems stupid to pay "From £149 = VAT per month" when you can do it yourself for free!! Or am I missing something?

You may want to read THIS (http://www.hobo-web.co.uk/seo-blog/index.php/clients-ignore-wwwstormmediaeu-storm-media-unsolicited-emails/)

There's also another company operating in a very similar manner (maybe this on under another name) who has a lot of negative posts on the web warning others off. Apparently they fail to terminate the agreement when requested and deny receiving the request. IMO one to avoid

Hey nice info....

I got phoned on this one and thought the salesperson was selling google sponsored listings, although she sounded vague.

Apparently she's going to phone me back tommorow. Should make an interesting conversation! lol

Thanks for the warning! One to STAY CLEAR OF!
