Any good? I'm thinking of doing their silver listing for £35 a year....unless any can persuade me to choose gold for £100 a year?

Your thoughts.....please don't tell me to use the search engine. I would like up to date information. :D

Think (I maybe wrong) but Dragonfly/Sprits High used this and got very good results....but i'm sure they were gold. :)

I think I'm a silver listing and I've had quite reasonable results from it over the last year. I've just had my invitation to renew and will definitely be doing so.

Having said that according to Google Analytics I've had 979 visits to my website from Google (organic search), 10 from UK Disco and 7 from mobilediscodirectory.co.uk. Now which ones of those am I paying for...? ;)

"Organic Search" means just the usual search results like when you go to Google and stick in "Disco Hire Bristol" or something similar (as opposed to paid results like Google Adwords or other advertising programs).

It's usually something which takes a bit of work (and association with existing high profile web sites like UK Disco and Mobile Disco Directory) to get a decent listing.

Organic search is just a normal search in Google.

UK-Disco doesn't have any Gold places in East Midlands at the moment, else I might have snapped it up already :D

I have 3 gold listings - West Midlands, South West and South East. They all bring in a good amount of work and help with SEO as well because its a stong inbound link to your website.

I've had a gold listing for a year and a half. To be honest I got the same amount enquiries when I had a silver listing. I wanted to revert back to a silver last renewal date, but found that once you've upgraded you can't downgrade. The only option I got was carry on with the gold listing or revert back to a basic bronze if I chose not to renew.

My free listing has brought :Censored: all work, so maybe I should upgrade to a Silver or Gold listing.

Big believer in a gold listing.

It is probably the best listing site I'm on, 2nd to direct enquiries through my website UK Disco is my biggest earner ;)

I have been on UK Disco for around 2 years now. I started off with a free listing and had 3 confirmed bookings within the first few weeks which I thought was pretty good. Then it quiet for a while. I decided to upgrade and go for a Silver listing and had loads of enquiries but only a couple of confirmed bookings so when it came to re-newing I decided to go back to a free listing. It's frustrating because as soon as I did that, a whole bunch of names started appearing on the list but because the listing was free and they weren't made directly to me, I couldn't get the details.

I will be going back to a silver listing shortly because in my opinion, it is one of the biggest sites that a lot of people look at and it's cheap enough to advertise with.

I started off on a free listing too but only got 2 enquiries in 6 months. I upgraded to Silver about 18 months ago and have had quite a bit of work from it. Off the top of my head I'd say I've had about 20-25 enquiries and half a dozen bookings from it (some very well paid) in the 18 months I've been with them.

My only tip is to enable the text functionality (I think you get some free ones when you upgrade to a paid listing) and also enable 3rd party enquiries. Then when an enquiry comes in, respond as soon as you can.

I've learnt that prompt responses tend to secure more work than a delayed response. I know this may seem obvious but I always respond as soon as a text comes in and a few times they've booked it immediately (albeit pencilled in til the NRBF is received).


It's easily paid for itself many times over.:D

I don't think I'll upgrade to gold though (and they are mostly sold out anyway).

I may trial a paid listing for a year as I believe it's fairly inexpensive and I know a few people on here get work from it (i.e. Rob). :)

Im on the silver listing but in my oppinion i dont get many bookings out of uk disco,you get alot of 3rd party enquiries\price shoppers which i respond to with my price quotation.Unfortunatly very few of these turn into genuine bookings.

Anyone else feel the same way about uk disco enquiries to bookings.

I'd highly recommend you do, Justin.

In my experience Hitched is one of those sites where free listings are pretty much toilet, but premium listings, although not cheap (nearly £200 a year) bring excellent results.

Of the sites where I advertise which have a link back to my website, my Hitched listing acccounts for 2.5% of these listings, but accounts for 28% of my website hits, and more than a third of all enquiries.
