Or shoudl that be Phoenix--esque? :p
I've been asked at several gigs recently whether I can play some Journey.
Classic stuff, but not what I'd call USUAL - especially considerin gthe people asking for it....
I am unsure where the recent resurgence in interest in this band has come from, as it's not Dad-Rockers coming up, but "kids" 16-and people in their late 20s/early 30s.
The only think I can think is whether Journey feature on any of the Guitar Hero games.
Have you found the same? Are there any other artists you find a sudden glut of requests for after being in the deepest parts of your crates for years?

I tend to get asked for it at virtually every gig. I know Justin does also. Been like that for a while.

'Journey - Don't Stop Believing' has been requested at every single gig I've done within the last month - it must have re-appeared somewhere within popular culture recently, but I've obviously missed it!

Me too. I've never been asked for it and in fact only bought it a couple of weeks ago!

How strange.
I have it, but I've never had it requested or played it.
It's not exactly an obvious choice to fill the dance floor.

Never been asked for it either. Not sure whether I even have it. Better check, so I don't get caught out!

Same here have it but have never been asked for it. I quite like Journey which is why I have it but as said not an obvious choice for a floor filler.
Moyles has bigged it up on a Golden Hour before. That may have re-ignited some folks interest.

bit like when family guy featured a song called "surfing bird". God that was a sight seeing people go nuts to that

Moyles has bigged it up on a Golden Hour before. That may have re-ignited some folks interest. There must be more to it than that.... from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don%27t_Stop_Believing), the most recent appearances for the song appear to be :
The song was released as downloadable content for the music video game series Rock Band on March 31, 2009.[7]. Unlike the album version which slowly fades to quiet, the Rock Band version ends with "Don't Stop", which is the same way it ended in the final episode of The Sopranos and in the television series Glee as well as how Journey ends the song live.
On the April 1, 2009, American Idol (season 8), the contestants sang this song as a group at the beginning of the results show.[8]. The song is used as the closing group song for the American Idol (season 8) tour.[9]
Even that doesn't explain it's sudden, recent popularity increase though - it's a strange one

it gets played in pubs and clubs regularly and most club act type rock bands seem to play it too, i play it practically every gig, and have been asked for "faithfully" a few times too !
