I am using a transcension baby jc1 to control mine and it works absolutely fine.
The jc1 has 8 channels per fixture and in one of its modes the efx500 will use 9. This hasn't caused me a problem as I haven't needed to adjust the settings on the 9th channel and if I did I can just use channel 1 on the next fixture, which I have left free anyhow.

A dmx controller with 12 or more channels would be better but in 2 years this has worked fine for me.

I don't know the martin controller range but I believe yopu have to edit the programmes on a pc rather than on the unit itself for at least some of the range

Cheers

Dave

I would go for the Martin Freekie (just like mine!). I tried the 2510 and didn't rate it at all, for me no good at all. Now, the Freekie is a great bit of kit, well worth looking at.

The Martin showtime is also very simple and effective.

Glad you mentioned that ... I wasn't aware that a hand controller is available.

If Controlling several lights, the Martin Freekie looks one of the best, but I'm not totally convinced with any of them yet.

...and not for use with the EFX500, unless you know something I don't? ;)
