Hi,

After one of my winch stands decided that its time to tell me its getting old by shearing off a screw bolt, i am wondering

what would you buy i mean thwese stands are pretty important in terms of they have to hold weight, they had to be sturdy so they dont fall over and they can also cost a fortune...

whats the general feeling out there... whats got recomendations and what hasn't

I'd recomend these - http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR296759

Practically idential to Mobiletek SPEK4000s, I reckon you could run a bus into them and they wouldn't fall over!

Weighs a bit at 32 kilos though for a stand. Mind you if its sturdy you want then they are probably going to fullfill on that at least.

Buy Powerdrive or Manfrotto - buy once & cry once.

These manufacturers' products, whilst more expensive than the budget mobile disco brands, will last you a lifetime with absolutely no compromises when it comes to build quality thus safety.

Totally agree, In use Powerdrive myself, super build quality, and will last forever. If you buy good S/H examples, and look after them, you will always be able to get your money back if you ever sell up.
