Thats my thought too, which is a shame. But £50 (ish) would be a briliant price for that number of songs.

I did have a look at their free download (Shania Twain) and ran it on a free karaoke player, and its fairly non-descript. No logo or anything. Also, there was no lyrics. Im sure i can remember years that with CD+G you could turn vocals on or off, so to aid those out of tune singers. is this not possible with MP3+G?

A quick search shows that someone by the name of Daniel Shropshire owns the site and also runs something called The Big Pop, and hosted with 50webs.

Just for info

The Multiplex format allows you to turn on or off the guide vocals, by using the left or right channels on the cd.

The old VCD's that came with the original JVC players also have left and right channels.

Some DVD karaoke discs also have this feature.

The main cdg's - Sunfly et al. do not have guide vocals.

Multiplex was also a feature of the karaoke tapes that were around years ago. The vocals were recorded to the right-hand channel only making the left audio-only. The multiplex control was simply a L/R balance switch much like the balance knobs on any mixer nowadays.

Mind you, I always thought it to be a bit rude to turn on vocals when someone was singing - no matter how bad ther were! After all, taking the bad with the good is what karaoke is all about.
