Im looking for 2 new lights for my setup. I have all the led stuff i want and am looking for some nice gobos in my lights.
What I am looking for.

1. Bright I want people to be able to see them clearly. So good optics
2. Smooth movement no jerking.
3. Dmx able or at least linkable in pairs.
4. Max budget is £400 a pair. No room on this.
5. Not very heavy but reasonable weight.
6. And reliable long term.

I have been looking at the data moons that I know a lot of people use also the abstract twister 4's which I happned to see a few months a go on another dj's rig and quite liked. But from what I suggested I guess you can see what I am looking for. So if you know an effect that maybe I should have a look at and you can recomend please let me know.

Opinions are sought here people so please suggest away.

Thanks in advance for all that post

Are you just looking for gobo flowers type effects?

if you are considering scanners as well i have 3 martin mx4 scanners for sale, needing a clean and tidy up (1 hour per light should see it), but would be in good condition when done, cases good condition, fully working, seperate colour and gobo wheels, discharge lamp, dmx, linkable ect nice, bright, fast, quality scans.

£225 for the 3

Consider a Martin EFX500. There isn't too much like it. You will only need one as a centre piece as it has a wide spread. You could add another later if you wish. The downside is that it is a little bit heavy at 12kgs. You can get them for £310 at the moment.

It does DMX, Master Slave and Stand Alone.

The only negative I have on it is that it doesn't do a very good strobing effect as it doesnt have a seperate stutter. You need to go to the EFX600 for that (£££s). I use my LED Bars to strobe if I want to.

If you want me to post videos of this effect I can, though i generally use as a pair.

Matthew your setup would look nice with a couple of moving heads. Very controllable and within your budget if you go second hand.

Matt have you still got the dynarocks? If so, I think a couple of moving heads would go nicely :)

Nah I did look at moving heads but the weight and size put me off a bit. Plus I was looking for a bigger spread than a single beam effect more a mirror dish type effect multiple gobos if you see what I mean.

I think something like the EFX500 would work for you, but you've said about two units... What about Acme Falcons?

If I was to spend your money for you I would either get two Martin Acrobats £125 - 150 S/H in excellent condition, and keep the £100, or buy a Martim Wizard Extreme these can be found in very good condition S/H for £350 - 400

Yeah I do like the look of the martin stuff the ebay listing is pretty much what I want but but £60 postage is pretty excessive. Anyone have any xp5's for sale?

Yeah, most profile moving heads has a 3-facet prism so you get the same gobo split into 3, so effectively, you get 3 gobos in 1 kinnda thing.

The Martin Wizard Extreme is one monster of an effect. It can easily fill any room with bright colourful light. But beware, light doesn't describe it's weight - it is fairly heavy. Some would say that was because of it's quality build though. At approx £900 new, if you can pick one up for £350 s/h in good working order then you've got a bargain. I use one regularly and couldn't recommend it enough.

The Acrobats are also very good. Last week I was in a big function room using the Wizard (pointing up at the ceiling), an Impossibled pointing at the floor, two Acrobats filling in the gaps and two LED Tangos to add a bit of variety and scanner movement. This gave me lots of options for the light show and made for a decent night (even if there was less than 30 people turned up!).

Ok, me being slow, I've only just connected this listing with you (CJ Entertainments vs CJ the DJ - Duh).

Do me a favour and answer my email? ;)

The Budget is £400 Ollie ;)

Acme Dynatwins/rolls are nice, but there isn't a seperate colour wheel, the Gobos are fixed colours.
