I'll let you find the courier, but what I have done when sending out lights is:

Stuffed the inside of the case with bubble wrap and newspaper. Gaffer taped the lid to the box all the way round several times, then black plastic bag, then more gaffa tape. I sent 4 x Martin scans to Scotland like this and they were immaculate and in one piece when they turned up.

On the other hand - you aren't that far from me, what about meeting half way?

Daz, you got a REALLY good deal there. I remember once paying more the £95for one of the older 100w versions. Cost me near on £200 for the pair. The gladiators are excellent lights though.

One of my DJs uses them and they were a lot more expensive new.

They will be going into a venue with 2 x Abstract Twister 4s for December, so will be ideal.

So long as they go to a good home - thank you.

Not sure about my other equipment for sale - shame its all good kit and well looked after.

I suppose I can keep the cd players and mixer for a second unit if I ever take anyone on..

Items received an hour ago all in very good condition and very well packed - thanks Mark.

I have just tried them and they seem to work fine, apart from one strange thing that doesn't really matter as they will be on a bar, but when you stand them up straight, the lamps go out - you have to tilt them backwards of forwards slightly to come back on again.

I'm sure there's a technical reason for this...

Hi Darren - Glad you received them ok - was worried if they would be handled roughly by the delivery people.

I can honestly say I have not come across this problem as I always mounted them on a tilt - do you think there is a cut out mechanism built in?

Are you standing them on the floor blocking the fans? as I guess that would affect the performance? I can't remember where the fans are, bottom or back.

I don't have a manual for them. :(

I've looked in the manual and can't see anything. It must be some kind of cut out as it's happening on both. I thought the fans were on the side.

Another quickie for you - can you invert them?

Loose connection?

The only manual I can find is:

Linky (http://www.sabretechnology.co.uk/pdfs/allman2.pdf)

It covers various models, I tried finding one for that exact model but I haven’t had any luck.

Yes you can, I have run them both ways without any problem.

In the manual it states:

On units with halogen lamps (all except Club series) the unit will turn off the lamp if all control channels are at zero for more than about 10 seconds. The lamp will turn back on when any channel changes from zero. This helps to extend lamp life if the unit is left powered but in black out for some time.

Could this be it?

I'll tell you what it was....me being a muppet.

If you stand them up, they stand on the thumbscrews that open the lamp compartment, but next to them is a lamp saver switch which is slightly taller than the thumbscrews and when you stand them up, the switch is in between high and low and this switches the lamps off.

The same thing happens on Twister 4HPs as I found out years ago...

Let the insults begin...
