Just had an email off them asking for my details etc... Saying they can get me work in my area. No mention of asking for payment for this and according to them they are a new company (website still under construction).
Anyone know of any reasons not to deal with them? Found it abit odd in the email they say and I quote "Apologies if you’ve received this email more than once or you’re not a mobile disco or karaoke Jock." which makes me wonder how they got my email address.

I've just found these emails in my inboxes (yes, more than one!)
They've been sent to my main email addy's but also to some that we use internally and haven't been published anywhere (to my knowledge, anyway) which I find a bit odd.
Nevertheless, I've emailed them back explaining that I review my marketing plan each year and, as such, am not in a position to use their service at the moment.

It appears they've been scouring directories to farm members details. :bang:
The email they reached me on is only used on the MDD.

If the address is a hotmail or yahoo etc, then it is so obvious that it is junk mail.
If Shaun's address is only used for MDD Registration and related, then someone must be going through the site looking for info.
I can't say I have received it yet though, but I don't have my email address set to public, so it would have to be a PM.

I don't think it's a case of not using BCC. The fact is that you've been sending spam mail to a large number of people. Spam is the blight of the internet and is one of the reasons that the internet is so slow with all those unsolicited emails blocking up the system. You're contributing to that and, as I'm on a metered broadband service, I actually have to pay to read your spam. It's just not on.

Why are you on a metered one? My unlimited one is only £13 a month (ok its bundled in with the tv and phone line).
The daft thing about the email was it started off with sorry if your not a disco company which just goes to show you've trolled for emails. The way it is written also goes against the amount of experience you claim to have because if its one thing succesful djs learn is that presentation at all levels is important and the email looks like it was written by a teenager lol.

PAT & PLI is essential, it's only not essential when your working in a club that has it's own ppl license, music software, speakers and lights. That's what I meant, I changed it when I realised that people misunderstood it as me not promoting safety and insurance. I could talk to you all day about pat testing, i'm a qualified electrician.
I know only too well how bad cable insulation can cause a short circuit which could be an ignition source for a fire. No respectable venue wants a MOBILE dj performing if it means thier insurance is void because they don't have the relevent pat test certificates.
"Walking Jocks" are different, sorry if people misunderstood me, that why I changed the email and 3500 of the 4000 emails recieved the revised email to avoid confusion.

I've only got a mobile broadband connection. There's no cable service locally and I got in to some money problems a few years ago and now find it hard to get a mobile broadband contract (although I think they're all metered anyway) and BT (as the only landline line provider in the area) want a hefty security fee so a landline is not an option just yet.
I'm putting things right a bit at a time so you can all put your violins away now! ;)

As I mentioned in the karaoke thread, how can you have the Digital DJ licence? It is now defunct as it was replaced with the ProDub (or that's my understanding of the situation, anyway).
So you have the contract for all Chicago Rock Cafe's? That's some achievement.

So you were working on the premise that all walk-in DJs have no electric items that they take with them...because of what you use. Most DJs i know, that only do walk-in jobs (mainly for lloyds, barracuda, luminar and a few others) use wireles mics ald laptops now.
