I have used my numark cd mix 2 unit for over 5 years now as my main playout system (i know, im updating!!).
About a year into using it ,it developed a fault where it stopped reading cds on one of the trays. I sent it in for repair and £200 later the main motherboard was replaced as well as one of the cd units.
I went to use it today and the left hand side cd unit has stopped reading discs again. The right hand side one is fine.
Is there anyway of fixing this or do i have to change the whole unit?
Im upgrading my kit to digital so now use a laptop (which i need to get a GLI for) and a BCD3000 USB mixer.
However i wanted to use the numark cdmix2 as a backup so i was going to plug the bcd3000 into the aux of the mixer and then if anything fails i can use cds on the numark. However now its faulty and i only got 1 cd working so cant really use it for backup with 1 cd tray.
I could plug the bcd3000 straight into the amp but then have no way of using cds if the laptop fails.
Im thinking just to get a cheap mixer and use a couple of portable cd players for backup and use the laptop and bcd3000 as main unit but i did want something a bit more pro looking without costing me the earth.
Any suggestions?
