Also got to thank Danno and James H for allowing their site to be the inspiration for some content (if the wording is still a bit too similar guys give me a dig and ill sort it as best as I can :beer1: )

Anyway...thoughts please www.dynamic-entertainment.co.uk

Looks pretty good to me, Steve.

I only noticed a couple of things I'd change, although that's just down to my personal preference rather than them being mistakes.

At the top tight of each page, I'd change the spacing of your phone number from 0800 9903030 to 0800 990 3030, as I think it's easier to get right when writing it down or dialling.

Secondly, I'd simplify the enquiry form on your contact page.

That's all I can think of for now.

Good job!

:)

Loving it! Looks very clean and fresh, and extremely refreshing to see a website that isn't using a dark background. Very nice job.

never noticed that Rob. If its not too much work then ill get it changed. If its gonna be a little bit of a pain for Marc...ill leave it :D

I did consider a simpler form, just with name, Tel No, and message (as like the old page) but i got so sick of having to reply to messages saying "How much for a disco in workington" and no other info for me to quote accurately that i figure what the hell. If they seriously want a quote, they can give me a bit of info :D

Marc's very accomodating. That's one of the best things about having Marc on board, nothings ever too much trouble!

Best of luck with your new site. :beer1:

I just thought it was a bit strange - especially as on the home page, the second line of text has the phone number spaced as 0800 990 3030, but on the top of all the pages it's shown as 0800 9903030.

I just think it makes more sense to stick with the same spacing throughout the site...rather than a combination of two different spacings.

That's fair enough then.

Its not difficult, he simply needs to press the space bar a few times to space out the number. In fact, you can easily do it too you know - right click the page and view source, this will bring up the whole HTML and you simply have to find the part where your 0800 number is and press your space bar until you are happy with the positioning of the number. Save the folder and be sure to title the new folder/HTML coding to the 1 that he uploaded to your FTP and then go ahead and upload the file.

The site is looking okay, I like it but I think it's lacking in photos a little. Yes, I know you have a gallery but I think the index page and other pages could do with a few more pictures on to add more sparkle.

He should of advised you on the outlay involved before he went to work on it. That's how it's normally done. If he does the work before he quotes you and after him doing the work, he may say to you "Ok then, thank you very much, it will cost you x amount of pounds". You might think his fee is too much and put you off so this is why he should've quoted you prior to him producing your website.

TBH Neil i specifically didnt want a whole host of pictures dotted around the site. I hate sites that look cluttered and put me off looking (and dont get me started on .gifs :D) so limited myself to a couple on a few pages, all it takes is that one wrong piture and it can look tacky IMO.:)

As my camera skills improve ill be filling out the gallery section, but thats where i wanted the bulk of my pictures to sit :)

Ill have a look at the tel number, i though it may be a bit more complicated than that with it being the header :)

I'm sure Marc J gave Steve a very good idea of how much it was going to be and I'm sure that Marc wouldn't want his prices put on here either.

Thank you Daz...less tactful than me :D

I wasnt lying, ive not had an invoice yet for the work, but i know a ballpark figure which we were working on. I dont want to give Marcs prices out without his say so...its like asking all of us for detailed pricings for disco :D

The site is CMS based so that Steve can edit the content himself. The header, menu and footer are in the template and the login I gave Steve doesn't yet have permissions to edit these (just to be safe!). It was as simple as pressing the space bar, but you've assumed it's a static HTML site which is not the case.

Steve knows how much it was going to cost him before I started, and that's between me and Steve if you don't mind ;)

Really nice!

One thing i would ask is that there are loads of testimonials and not many pictures from gigs? I used istock when i set up my first site as i had no mobile pics.

Other wise great!

I really like that. I especially like the Uplighting photos and I am sure that they will do really well for you. I'd maybe think about having one of those photos on your front page? (Yes, I think that they are that good).

Pro-active continuous quality improvement is all part of the service :)

On that subject, the swedish blonde you ordered arrived but failed my rigorous (and there were a lot - I had to make sure) quality tests so she has been sent back :D

Nice :) Clean, easy, etc etc. Nice bit of keyword stuffing in the bottom left pane - make sure you change that from page to page otherwise Google will penalise you for it.

By the way, on http://www.dynamic-entertainment.co.uk/mobile-discos/packages-mobile-discos.html you've got "fore" instead of "for" in "for more details" in each case.

The tag cloud is generated automatically from the content across the site, and will change whenever content is updated, but it is the same on every page.

Although it's such a small area of the page, with a maximum of 40 words, that it's safe to assume Google will not penalise for duplicate content. Sites usually have common headers / footers / code chunks and to penalise for this would be a little OTT, imho.

By the way, on http://www.dynamic-entertainment.co.uk/mobile-discos/packages-mobile-discos.html you've got "fore" instead of "for" in "for more details" in each case.

The general design of your site looks good, however, there are many inconsistencies in Grammar, Tense, Capitalisation and Punctuation, I'm surprised Rob hasn't picked up on this :)
I've highlighted some of the more obvious instances, but many more remain, I've also rewritten the script of one of the paragraphs. Feel free to use it (or not) if you wish.

Dynamic Entertainment started 9 years ago, providing Mobile Discos throughout West Cumbria. Since that time, expanded and evolved to now provide a whole range of services, including Venue Mood Lighting, and we now also supply specialist DJs to pubs and night clubs throughout the North West.

In those 9 nine years of experience; we have supplied Mobile Discos for many different events: weddings, christenings, birthday parties, corporate events and proms, to name a few. In addition to that most of our DJ’s have worked, not only in the Mobile Disco industry, but also in pubs and nightclubs. Please rest assured that even though we run a DJ Agency as part of our business, your Mobile Disco will be ran run by a “Mobile DJ” and not a Club DJ. We firmly believe that a good club/pub DJ does not necessarily make a good Mobile DJ!

Even with all our additional services, our core business had remained, and will continue to remain, in supplying Wedding discos. That said, we are available for any function or event you may be considering, and will guarantee to provide the same level of service regardless of the reason for the celebration.
