Strange noise from speakers

No , I dont mean my taste in music :D
I set up in a pub last night , I have played there before , so the setup was the same , however through out the evening there was a sound like an insect flying into one of those zappers , this was every 6 seconds , all night :eek:
I unplugged everything bar the laptop , both mic`s , CD player , even the lights a one stage , any ideas chaps ?

It could be a chiller, electric pump or other device causing interference on the power circuit, have you still got the strange noise if plugged in at home?

I was thinking along the lines of an external system switching in and out.
I may set up the basic system in the local club on Monday to see if all is ok , or not .
