Hi all
didnt know where to put this TBH so - if its in the wrong section feel free to move..
I use VDJ for my work, and use the samples quite a bit. It occured to me that my show could probably benefit from some jingles / samples and was wondering where to get them. ( I mainly do weekend pub gigs playing charts / dance etc)
' Jingles' is an old word - but I suppose thats what I'm after.
Cheesey stuff like tongy and co on Radio1 uses.
'Welcome to the weekend'
that type of thing.
Googled and searched to no avail...
any thoughts?

ta muchly.

Nile, one of my mates is a voice over artist, and would do some custom ones for you for a small price? He's very good, does stuff for commercial stations, hospital radios, DJs etc.

Send me your email address and I will forward you some royalty free voice overs and one shots that I received free from Pro DJ Drops last year when I ordered some Intros from them.

bless you...
:-) being a tight wad I'll take the free option!
nile at nilehollis.co.uk ( change the at obviously! :-) )
as for the voiceover thingy? Will keep that in mind. I suppose its all about the production. If you listen to the type of stuff tongy uses for say welcome to the weekend its repeats, slows down etc etc. just the voice is not the key- after something with a little bit more zing! There are a couple of guys on one of the mixitup type DJ's forums who want something similar,so if the prodiction is possible then it may be an option.
aprreciated for the jingles site link. I looked at the jingles site, but its tough to say if they would be any good.. There are No samples on line to listen too. and although ther MAY be the odd one or 2 things on the £20 CD's I ' may' use its a punt really for something that may well not be any good...
:-)

Hi Nile,
Have a listen to these samples,I use these and find they give a professional sound to your show when you use them occasionally during the gig.You can even get custom made jingles with your name or whatever from this guy.Hope this will help you.

Nile there are loads of DJ discs that have jingles, drop-ins and voice-overs on them.

The one I use most of the time is the DJ Box For All Occasions (I think it's Mastermix but I've just come back off my hols and am finishing off the beer so my mind isn't working properly at the moment!)

I know there are a few like Lesley Lafferty (Marks and Spencers) and Andy Rowe.

But I'd like to know who does Heart FM, Galaxy FM etc

James will know :)
