Found this on another forum and thought it would be a good idea to post it up on here.

Basically, its a video projector which uses some kind of software on a laptop which can create laser type shows. Now this in my eyes is a really good idea. Means you can have really good laser (type) shows without out problems of health and safety.

YouTube - LightShow with Video-Projector

What do you lot think then?

This has been Translated from German to English from a forum

Unfortunately, the new version will still require some time because I work on many completely new things.

As I said in the new color effects can be changed arbitrarily and possibly speed and everything you want such as strobe (the effect itself, the effect itself flashes ....)

And for that I will be also programmed as a kind of DMX Control DDF Creator ".

Because then we can effect any real manual control, and you can change to the effect itself still plenty. What you can change it, be in the Flash. Swf file needs to be programmed and then creates a corresponding file for my software with the features and controls, and objects found in the Variabelnamen. Swf file can be controlling, then in my Software is read.

And then I would also like to try controlling these functions with the playlist can save and reload, and can also.

And just this thing will unfortunately take a little time in Anpruch, because I need it to program a lot.

So I post here simply schonmal a minimally improved version of 0.5

There, a Manuel adjustable dimmer is built
And the "mask function to create" is there one installed already. However it can be all that still does not save properly and correctly, the mask is discharged when the main effect of levels is changed.

With me on the computer, is already a newer version available, as here, but there are very many things, especially in programming, and therefore not useful, therefore, I offer once in this version.

But there are a few new flash effects here!

eg "effect NonMusikcAkivationEffektsAndStartStop CoolLaserEffekts" look very interesting;)

Well here, just the download link:

Would be excellent to have that software. 2 projectors could be used for the whole light show. Very clever idea someone had to utilize a projector for something more than just videos.

Contacted the guy:

hey,

you can download the software to use a video-projector as light effekt here.

But the Software is in german!

http://klomeister.eimer-24.de/Daten/BeamerSoundToLight.exe

and you have to download this and have to replace the old files from the installer with the new files from the .zip archive:

http://.eimer-24.de/Daten/BeamerSoundtoLight.zip

if you have problems to understand the german language use the google translator!

This is quite a good idea, several positive factors here from H&S aspects to lower running costs. From what I see in the video, I don't know if it's my computer or not but the lightshow seems to be a little slow whereas a laser projector is full on kinnda thing. I'd be tempted to go watch this projector in action, will be an interesting comparison. I dont think these projectors will get close to an actual laser projector mind, might come close but we'll see.

I've had this V3D software on my PC for some time but haven't got round to really playing with it. (you need a second video card to use it). The photo's of the 15k ansi lumen projector at the bottom are awesome. It's a great idea for crowd scanning.

I think this effect looks really good and is a clever idea and maybe just maybe could work but...

Projector beams are not 100% safe. They are safer than lasers yes but are still not safe so there are still H&S issues

And projectors aren't that cheap. You may find by the time you've spent £500odd quid on a projector, £250ish quid for a bulb then software and laptop on top of that it might not work out that cheap. You may aswell buy a laser for that price.

My thoughts exactly, once you take into account bulb life/cost it makes this an expensive option compared to a purchase of a laser, unless you only plan on using it once in a while and not week in week out.

Just out of interest but how much is the cheapest RGB animation laser then?

Why not just use a screen with some the video plug in's from winamp or whatever, they would be a lot better, the roller coaster vector that you can get as a video plug in is great to have as a focal point behind you

I've used abstract graphics on a projector pointed down onto the dancefloor from a tall lighting stand many times over the past few years when a certain type of ambience is required eg. at Hallowe'en or for "rave" type gigs. With the right abstract they make quite reasonable oil projectors too.

Totally agree. Works really well and looks even better if on a rare occasion you can use haze as well! Venues with big white walls are also a bonus!!!

Must admit V3d looks great and much better features but at £550 for the lite version a bit steep.

Can the software produce animated cartoon type graphics and text messages like V3D? Then it would be really useful

Hi Daniel, I think your software looks great but I still can't get the zipped link to work.

It would also be a good idea to introduce yourself in the Newbie section, then people will stop banging on about it :)

And hes already listing his projector as a laser-type effect too :)

Mit diesem Beamer lassen sich nicht nur Präsentationen durchführen, sondern mit diesem Gerät ist es auch möglich laserähnliche Effekte zu simulieren

Rough translation -

This projector can be carried for presentations, but its also possible to simulate a laser-type effect.
