View Full Version : Wireless LED Pars - Anyone used them?

When I did my Uplighting at a venue the other day, it took me quite a while to connect everything up and also to make sure everything was tidy and taped down.

It got me thinking as to whether there were any wireless LED units out there so I did a Google search and low and behold, there are. I haven't looked into it too much as yet but I am very interested. There are some on the HTFR website priced at £99.00 each and it says that a remote control does all the work, you just plug them in and it does what you want.

Has anyone got these or used these?
What are they like?
What's the output like?
Is there a limit on the number of units you can control with just the one remote control?

I'll still be keeping and using the Colourbursts but was thinking about investing in some of these after the christmas period. No cables etc..sounds good to me.

LEDJ have had remote controls for some of their units for ages - a couple of my bars have them.

What I'm waiting for is a PAR with a built-in rechargeable LiIon battery with an 8-hour runtime, and wireless DMX, for about £99.

Now THAT would be something worth having. Come on, China, sort it! :D

Darren, obviously there will be power cables!

Yeah, but you said no cables. If you still have to use power cables, you might as well tape down DMX cables at the same time. I can't see much of a difference in timing to be honest.

I agree, unless you happen to have a room where there are power points dotted all around the room at appropriate places, then there isn't much point in them being wireless.

A number of venues in my area and ones that I have done Uplighting in a couple of times, have multiple sockets and that's what made me think of the units. When I say "multiple sockets" I mean that they are spaced out down each side of the room at intervals. Now, I am sure you'd agree that a venue like that, it would be ideal to just plug the units in to the sockets and spaced out and then use the wireless.

Here is one venue that I am talking about and I was there on saturday. Where the units are is where the sockets are!

I've got 5 so far, I use 1 as a transmiter and 4 as receivers. Works well :)
