Comfort food.

...as the title say's ..."What is your favourite comfort food?"

If you have been giging or just been out in the cold – what do you like to chomp on, can be quick and easy or take longer.

Me – good comfort food is beef stew and dumplings only if you have prepped it before hand and only in winter time.

Quick comfort food – Sausages cut up into bit size pieces (meat content has to be at least 68%)
Tomato soup with a crusty cob.
Cheese on toast with Tabasco on top.

In the summer – chunky salad with veal and ham pie or chicken with piri-piri on it.

List as many and repeat as many as you like.

I love all types of food.

At the moment I have a few favourites when it comes to "comfort food."

Smoked salmon parcels with Philadelphia inside and a king prawn on top. Sounds extravagant but it's rather nice.

Any form of cheese or olive doesn't go a miss.

Goats cheese salad is also one my favourites. Buy a fresh bag of lettuce and drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar on top. (don't over do it or the cheese will become soggy.)
Heat a griddle up for around 15 minutes so it's piping hot. Whilst the griddle is getting hot fry a small peace of bread to put on the salad that the goats cheese can rest on. This prevents the dressing on the salad to mix with the goats cheese.
Once the griddle is hot, place the goats cheese in the middle and turn the sides every few minutes until the cheese starts too ooze out.

You can, but it's not advisable unless you're partial to a bowl of chocolatey caramelly fat. Which is nice in moderation if you dip bread in it. :ph34r:

Yes you're quite correct, it should have been raw king prawns, I was thinking of fresh chili and ginger at the time, that's my excuse anyway, and I'm sticking to it.:)

In my opinion, something is toasted if you grill it, which is basically how a toaster works. So it would only be roasted cheese if you oven cook it or something :)

Just chicken without onion, pepper and mushroom etc

Marinade

Garlic cloves x 3
Knob of ginger
spring onions
Tbsp light soy
Juice and zest of one orange
2 tbsp clear honey
2 tbsp veg oil

Marinade cubes of chicken breast overnight and then grill or griddle on a skewer for about 7-10 minutes.
