I suspect someone's pulling my chain...
... just had an email in asking for the vaguest quote you're ever likely to receive - from a Mr Aldric, initial B :o
Yeah, right...

"Dear Sir,
Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately I cannot provide you with a quote in this instance as it could leave me in the stickiest situation since sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun. Futhermore, I fear your email is nothing but a subtle plan to pull my chain. In reality, you wouldn't recognize a subtle plan if it painted itself purple and danced naked on a harpsicord singing 'subtle plans are here again'.
Yours...

I was thinking of something similar, although if it was me, I'd sign it as Mr Sole, initial R.

That is a very cunning plan sir. Even more cunning than that fox which used to be Professor of Cunning at Oxford University... :D

Are you talking about Joke emails?
If so, I'd respond normally like :
"we can not provide a quote without arranging a face to face meeting"
That would soon get rid of the swines :D
