I think what they are doing now is, as the 2000 is replacing (or substituting) the 1000, they are introducing others out to take over the 400 etc.

I must admit I did see a CDJ400+DJM400+Case Pack on one of the suppliers websites being sold for something like £1500.

Also The same place put the Numark DDS80 to 1/2 Price.

All these are clues which we need to look out for perhaps, hints that a new product may be arising shortly.

I'm pretty sure this is just a smaller version of the CDJ 2000, something that Mobile DJs are able to carry comfortably without using up too much space.

The CDJ 400 is not being replaced by a CDJ 900. The CDJ 2000 & CDJ 900 are digital versions of the CDJ 800 mk2 and the CDJ 1000 mk3.

The DDS 80 is discontinued, hence they're half price.

The CDJ 400 package, is just a bundle offer, offered for all retailers.

Does the CDJ 2000 have a CD Drive or built in HDD?

I think if it has both, then the CDJ 1000, 400, etc will not sell much; and if they do, it will be at a reduced price.

It is likely to be replaced, as digital accesories are in popular demand.

Build in CD drive

No built-in HDD

Don't know.

Media players are popular, just not Numark ones.

I'm guessing that Numark haven't had the kind of uptake they were hoping for on the DDS80 - I was wondering why they were being discounted so heavily.

By the way, are they discontinuing the DDS (3U controller thing) as well, or just the DDS 80 (3U controller plus HDD and CD draws?)

I'd also be very interested to know the answer to that.

From the CDJ2000 thread:

They reckon about $2100 for the CDJ2000 and $1600 for the CDJ900. We'll have to wait and see what that translates into when they're on sale here (probably next year - release date is Nov in the US).
