I use a SAMSUNG S850.

Nice and easy to use and a bit of a bargain if you keep your eye on argos etc

I had a Fuji Finepix camera, an older model now I grant you, but it just died - just like that.

Well that gets a vote from me too.

Bought exactly this camera (Panasonic Lumix FS7) back at the end of July after reading loads of reviews in magazines and online etc. then borrowing a friend's who had an older model.

For the money its simply stunning in quality of picture, ease of use and facilities etc.

The lumix is a cracking camera (especially for the price). But I'm using a Fuji Finepix s5800 (Amazon) which you can still pick up for about £90 in a number of places. The low light performance is fantastic, as is the video quality. When I was out last weekend I took the Finepix and my mate took a fairly pricey HD video camera and we ended up using the Finepix for all of the live video as you couldn't see anything on the dance floor with the HD camera, but I got quite a reasonable quality video (given the near pitch black lighting) out of the Finepix.

I'd love to hear other people's opinions on this though (and recommendations for a good low light HD camcorder) as the Finepix is a little conspicuous when you're taking photos (you tend to get people showing off and posing a lot - not that bad a thing until you come across a scotsman in a kilt  ) and the battery performance out of a set of AA's is good, but ideally I'd like something with a rechargeable battery designed for the purpose as the Flash takes it out of them).
