Hi Guys,

I have been looking into a club for a while, I am now looking to think of a name for the club.

Here are a few I have thought of :)

Bit of info? Whats the club like, music policy etc etc.

IMO the whole package should work as a whole, so "Club Elite" to me says more upmarket, so probably not aimed at chavs playing clubland etc etc.

If you can link the name sucessfully with a brand/type then your half way there IMO. You wouldnt associate Crasher with pop music would you ;)

well said

The name is properly the last thing you need to worry about first. Firstly see where theres a gap in the market then build the club around that idea and then a suitable name will come to you

Very ture.

I am looking at a vary vast age range.

Thank about it.. when do us DJ ever have a day off or ever a weekend to ourself to go out on the town and let someone else entertain you.

I want the club to be open 7 days a week.

Monday = DJ's Public service persons (Police, Hospital staff etc) that work weekends.

Tues & Wed = Football night.. all the football on at least 8 Screens.. eg football game on ITV or Sky can both be played in the club.. so no more picking one game at watching the highlights later.

Thursday = Student night. (drink promos BUT MUST RUN 3 CONSECUTIVE DAYS I.E TUES,WED & THURS £1.50 PER DRINK)

Fri & Sat = Real decent music. Chart, RnB bit of 80's (not to much)

Sunday = poll dancing lessons/ Dance lessons OR Arobics. .. don't know yet.

Paul

as Steve has indicated, more details would be good...

but for starters, when you say "looking into a club", perhaps you can clarify if you are looking to buy/lease club premises, which you will trade on various nights, or whether you are looking to launch & promote a club night at an established nightspot?

edit: you answered my questions in your post of the same time!

Monday is just like any other day, anyone can come in for either a quiet pint up stairs..again big screens will be on with sport.

I am looking to lease the club.

It has an upstairs chill out zone, private VIP lounge and main dance hall with stage. can hold up to 300 persons I think, can't remember going to view on wed.

Agreed, but do you really think the idea of Gordon Brown & David Cameron gyrating sensually on the day of rest will catch on?

And if it does, what happens on Sunday nights AFTER the next general election?

Sunday = poll dancing lessons

Firstly see where theres a gap in the market then build the club around that idea and then a suitable name will come to youI agree about the naming - some of the names for clubs in Edinburgh are strange choices to say the least, and you would have no idea what to expect until you'd actually been in the club.

Clubs seem to thrive on 'word of mouth' and reputation in my opinion, and the name is tagged on to that.

Who knows, Its woth a punt.. no1 in the area does this only pubs, but I want to cause confusion with my competitors.. the amount of times that people have said that they have no where to go on the weeknight.. maybe a small market.. buy we didn't get PC's Internet with out someone being different.

A1DL,

There is quite a big demand in this area for something like this.. again no one else does this.

It used to be called 'Caesars' when I DJ'd there. Quite a fitting name with the look of the building.

yip spent a fair bit of time in jacks, met my now wife there infact lol.

Not sure if it's a good idea taking on a name of a previous club in the same town, it's a new club with nothing to do with the old,not even the same building so best to start a fresh me thinks.

I used to spend a lot of time in kdy, it certainly has seen a downturn in buisness over the last couple of years in my eyes, the pubs arn't as busy, candle rooms have half the club curtained off as it's never that busy now even with bigger named dj's playing there on the odd occasion.

Kittys and dv8 seem to have cornered the market but even they are only open weekends, now this might play into your hands with midweek nights but it also might mean there is no market for it, they have all tryed it including the club you are looking at and all have went back to a fri, sat with a possible thu, sun IF it's busy enough.
