Hello,
I am looking to buy a pair of Isolution Imove 250S Moving Heads and I was wondering weather they were any good or not?
Also, where could I get brackets for them to hang on a triangle truss system?
Cheers,
Tom

I love mine. The only problem I've had with them is the ignitors have failed (and had to be replaced) in both of 250S's I bought. Since I fitted the new ignitors I haven't had any more problems.

Ok, thank you Elite DJ. Can you have custom gobos in them?
Shaun
30-09-2009, 04:29 PM
Yes, all the gobos are replacable. I've replaced some of them, but the process to change them over is a bit of a pain.

Ok, where do you order your custom gobos from?

I think the extra to get the 7s is worth it myself but thats from a djing point of view. Customers will be just as impressed with the 5's

But I have always wanted a pair of imove 250s and got a good deal so I am going to go for it.

Extra to get the 7S's? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 7s are around half the price of the 250s

sorry your right I was thinking of another unit! My bad
Looking at the price of these surely you would be better buying the basics first? If I recall your after hiring a sound system for NYE?
DynamoTom

Yes but I have sorted out the rig for nye now and have the money to get the imoves so I thought I would take my chance

For the price of them in comparison with other similar fixtures, the iMove 250s are great. I started using mine with a ca8 controller and set the slave to invert the master. They have a front facing program built into them which is great as when you are on a stage you don't want them pointing behind you, maybe just very briefly now and again. I've got four of them now but I find they are better on the floor, unless you are on the floor (not on a stage) in which case I mount them on top of speakers, will try and throw a pic up after the weekend to show you what I mean. My mate uses 10 of them but actually has 14 of them, he's a guitarist and uses them on stage powered by Martin LightJockey 2. 6 spots behind him and 4 washes lighting him up. Will try and add a photo for you to see of him too.

Are you serious? They cost over £700 EACH new!

Well i got offered a pair with flight cases and leads for £400 but sold them before I had chance to have a say in them.
Shaun

I doubt you'll find that kind of offer again. If I'm wrong and he is willing to sell them for 400 a pair.....I'll take 10 of his hands and sell them for a profit.

Shaun

I've no idea as I bought mine new. Definitely not anywhere near £400 though.

Imove 5's are not very good though, if you want to get them then make sure you pay the money and get HiD version of them as you will be totally wasting your money on the normal iMove 5s unless you play in a pretty small room every night

Sorry, I disagree.
I've had the ELC versions for a couple of years and they fill the biggest room and are very very bright.
I have also run them alongside the discharge version at CR Services and the only real difference is the white is cleaner, crisper and less yellowy on the discharge version.

Each to their own opinion !! They still aren't very good though whether discharge or elc !! I bet you aren't using them now hehe.

Er, yes I am, hehe.
They are a very good budget moving head.
I'd be interested to know why you think "They aren't very good".

I have to agree with Darren.
I've used four of the elc ones alongside my HID ones in some really large halls, and brightness has never been an issue.

Ok, I will get the elc ones first and see how they work out for me?
Does anyone know anyone who is selling a pair for around the £450 - £500 mark?
Cheers,
Tom
