Hello all,
I've had my S&H DJ Booth a while now and since it's first outing have treated it like a box of eggs, I've also known since that day that it needs a case and was wondering how other owners, store and transport the star cloth part of it?
Not wanting to get this thread into a comparison between the S&H Booth and the Deckstandbooth, I made my choice and I stand by it, just looking for advice!
Cheers.

I pack mine away as per S&H instructions (fold then roll) and then it goes in a flightcase with the transformer.

Well done, you just reminded me. I've been meaning to get a flight case for my LEDJ starcloth as the "laptop bag" they supply with it might keep it dry/clean, but the transformer has taken a right kicking over the years as the bag does nothing at all to protect it.

Very true. The connection inside the cloth between the external power and the LED's fell off almost every week, until I took it to bits and took a couple of rolls of electrical tape to it!
The cloth (rolled & loosely folded) sits nicely between the lower parts of the folded frame, in one flightcase.
The controller & LV pack find a spare space in one of the LX trunks. The LV pack is, IMHO, the most ridiculous and useless shape - why is it not a standard 19" 2U unit - that could sit nicely in the bottom of a dimmer rack?

Yeah I know what you mean about the pack, although I've found the perfect storage space in one of my cable flight cases - a bit of luck to be honest!
Does anybody use a specific off the shelf case which their cloth fits in? That's really what I'm after, I've been looking at keyboard bags but most are too big, on the other hand, the Arriba cases seem to be to small!
You think for the price the people at S&H would have thought that as this product is designed for the mobile market a storage / transport option would have been included - even NJD give you a padded bag with their star cloths and they're a fraction of the price of this.

i actually cheat and transfer alot of my gear around in.... brace yourselves plastic stack boxes that ive actually custom foamed to fit all my lights etc in as the spartan pack ive got only came in a huge long box and couldnt find anything to actually fit them in snuggly and my NJD starcloth fits ideal on top again folded loosley
like this box but mine has got black lids

A specific case, yes. But not "off the shelf"
The flightcase is a bespoke one which fits tightly around the metal frame, with the cloth sitting between the frame.

I've got an old 12" (90) flightcase that I can get the transformer in as well.

Any chance of a photo and who built the case for you?
I know the case will be quite big but that casing the whole thing was an option I considered.

I spoke with John from S&H today and they have recently released carrier bags for both the cloth and the stand... but personally I wouldn't think you need it for the stand as its covered by the cloth :D

When it's up, yes. Surely you don't think you can transport it like that? :p

Hi Matt
The case was made by Flightcase Warehouse. My colleague whom knows how to get photos from camera to computer is out of the business until next week, however I'll do this for you on her return.

Incredible news, that was the answer I was looking for!
I'll give them a call tomorrow, in the meantime though are we talking about seperate bags, one for the cloth, one for the case, or one that holds both?
I do agree casing the hole thing would make it a bit unusable for me.

After recently getting a S&H DJ Booth and wondering how to store/transport the cloth for it, I decided that I wanted to have a little bit more protection for it than the PVC bag S&H can supply. I went for a swan flightcase which arrived today and is imo perfect for the job.
